Introduction

Taylor moved to the Denver area after several successful years teaching and performing in the Puget Sound Region in Washington State. He has performed with the Sunriver Music Festival Orchestra, Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra and Rainier Symphony. He also served as the Associate Conductor of the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra, and currently serves as the conductor of the Wild Beautiful Orchestra in Denver. Fostering enjoyment and love for music is Taylor’s primary goal of music instruction. His experience as a teacher includes beginning to advanced students of all ages and backgrounds. Taylor offers lesson in piano, clarinet, music theory, and conducting.

Taylor was super helpful and knowledgeable, and taught me specific ways to practice that I still use to this day. He is always friendly and inspires me to continue with music study. He has been a great help to me with learning music. He's a hard worker and I look up to him.

Taylor worked with our twin 10 year olds. He did a great job introducing them to piano, treating them as individuals (they had separate lessons, but one caught on quicker than the other and Taylor was great about not exacerbating the divide!), and was always flexible when we need to adjust regularly scheduled lessons. I wish he didn't move so he could still be our piano teacher!

Taylor is a wonderful piano teacher and skilled pianist. He combines great playing ability with superb knowledge of music theory. Lessons are informative and fun, as they align with student's individual musical interests, talents and learning style.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Whether you have played piano for several years and have a strong musical background, or are beginning music study for the first time, the basis of piano lessons with me will be to seriously study the craft of music while exploring the beauty of the instrument and building passion for music in general. The first few lessons will focus on learning how to best work together and discussing your goals for piano study, upon which I will build a plan towards achieving those goals together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from the University of Puget Sound (Tacoma, WA) in 2017 with a degree in Music Education and an emphasis on Piano Performance, and a Masters degree in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Denver. I currently serve as the Conductor for the Wild Beautiful Orchestra, and previously served as the Associate Conductor of the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra.
