FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard rate is $120/hr, charged by the quarter-hour. When I invoice, I take into account that not all time is charged time… conversations may take a turn to the topical or interpersonal, I may be interrupted, I may have to research something; in short, I bill for what I do, not necessarily for all elapsed time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to discuss the issue that's affecting them in general terms, get an overall view of their use of the computer, and explain how and why I'm suggesting a next step (they bring me the computer, I come to them, they permit me to view their screen/control their computer.)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am enrolled in both Apple's Mac OS X and iOS Developer programs, so that I can get familiar with Apple's yearly software changes prior to the software being released to the public. That means that when you're considering updating your Mac, iPhone or iPad, I can advise you about software incompatibilities you might encounter and how to work around them, as well as help you determine if upgrading will really benefit you.
