- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For fences there are a few different rates based on style of fence and cost of materials. There are no particular discounts nor are there any extra fees. No payment until job is completed. No down payment or up front costs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If my phone rings I answer it. I will answer any questions by phone that I can, and for many jobs, if you tell me the length of fence needed I can quote it over the phone immediately. But if you don't have a length measured, I will visit the site and determine a fair price after seeing the scope of the work. For a standard cedar privacy fence I have fixed pricing, for a fence with top cap and trim there is an up-charge to the basic rate. For anything unusual I will price it out with any special materials or extra labor needed. For example, bigger fence posts or different trim work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Thirty plus years of small business management. Lots of experience, for example, we completed approximately 260 jobs last year. One of my favorite quotes is "Experience is the best teacher, it gives the test first, and then the lesson"
