FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Continuing one's education is an important aspect of anyone's job, no matter what it is. Trying to improve upon who and what we are will keep one relevant in the job market, and in life. I recently completed a certification series focused upon the emerging field of massage in the schools. Here is a brief writeup on that experience: http://tlcmm.com/massage-in-the-school-program/
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been fascinated with the body and while still at the University of California at Santa Barbara, I worked as a sports trainer with the athletic department. After graduating I was lucky to land a job with the Santa Barbara Medical Foundation Clinic. It was through working in Physical Therapy I discovered I was more interested in touch and how it can heal a person.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most popular of all my massages is by far the 90 minute hot stone massage. When I added chair massage, while working for Twenty Three Trees at Poudre Valley Hospital, I was surprised to learn how valuable a service that is to so many individuals who would otherwise have great difficulty doing something so simple as laying on a massage table.
