I've been learning Pilates from Tara for a year now, and without compare she is the best wellness coach I've ever had. As a 55 year-old woman working hard to increase, improve and maintain my health Tara has been a partner who is endlessly competent at employing her experience and intuition with skill and ability to identify and address gaps like muscle weakness with massage and training to immediately relieve pain and suffering while building capability. It's not a miracle, but rather the steady commitment to showing up and seeing the improvement. Pilates is a tool, Tara is the conductor.

Rex was vital in one of the most difficult times in my life. He guided me with invaluable wisdom in business leadership practice. He's a football coach and a former Division I athlete, so he understands passion and pride. He also sees the goal ahead and has a playbook and game plan that is best for his clients. He's a caring and compassionate leader who I would recommend to anyone who's looking to better themself in the professional world. He's my coach and I value him. Blake Olson

RJ has been my life coach for almost 30 years. He has helped me with my relationships with my children. He has helped me with my personal issues and because of his input I understand myself better and have made many changes for the better. He does that with unconditional love and acceptance. I always feel that he helps me get answers in my life by asking questions and never tells me what to do. I highly recommend him and he definitely gets 5 stars.

Most highly motivated athletes can navigate through the expert recommendations, training schedules and nutrition plans to accomplish their athletic goals whether it be their first 5k or an Ironman. I was half way through training for my first Ironman when I was introduced to Susanne. I knew from our first conversation, that her athletic and life experiences were going to help me through this training adventure. There is no doubt I could have done this alone, however Susanne helped guide me through with my core, both my physical core and my emotional core. She asked me dig deep beyond the training to focus my efforts on something more than the physical part of what I was trying to accomplish. Certainly there were discussions on running and biking form and optimal nutrition. However, what will get me to the finish line is the inner work Susanne pushed me to do while on this journey. Her enthusiasm for my success and willingness to talk me off ledges and through tough weeks will certainly be remembered and highly valued along my 140.6 mile day.

Working with Valentina together or have her work for you is the best experience I ever had hiring a freelancer or temporary service. Nust the approach she uses to get the job done... Personal, Professional and Awesome! Always with great attitude and able to put everyone in the good mood around her. I've never had it that easy with anyone else, just tell her what needs to be do and expectation and that's all, she just takes over without any details being provided and gets it done! Another plus is that she knows everything and has experience in many professions and will always give advice and help or just do it herself. She has helped us as a Business Consultant, HR Consultant, Set guidelines and Company Picies, set strategies, Employee Training on Standards, Safety, Loss Prevention, Product Development, Marketing, Sourcing and Research is her strongest thing you tell her what you wanna know about something or even find someone and she's like a Bad A... Investigator, will find anything or anyone and figure it out where, who, and what happened, Procurement, Orderig, Communication, Presentations, easy going everyone Loves working with her, Event Planner if you are planning an event and you want something unique or unusual or something to be "WOW" she's the one to go to. Besides business professional tasks and duties she will plan and set up all personal events and get it all done! And besides that she can provide desserts, Baker and Professional Cake Decorator, Catering and much more You need a mentor, life skills coach, therapist, counseling, someone to work with kids (even if it's personal or one on one) and life problems and transitions... She's always there. She don't do it for money, even tho she supports her family with 5 kids, she does it to help is her PASSION! One person you need to hire who can do it all! You name it and she'll make it!

I have been seeing Denise as my Life Coach for over a year now. She has been an excellent counselor and guide for my whole health. I had been struggling with depression and skin rashes and wanted to improve my health. Not knowing which type of counseling to get, I saw her add in my PC office and called and made an appointment. Seeking alternatives to prescription drugs, which I had discovered I was allergic to, made it necessary for me to find natural treatments and solutions. A live blood analysis revealed many hidden issues and Denise provided knowledgeable supplement recommendations plus training in eating healthier. She also provided step by step lifestyle changes with loving encouragement. I have grown healthier and now make better choices. My confidence and ability to conquer fears has grown and my life is changing for the better. This program can be expensive but the investment in your overall well-being is priceless! I recommend Denise as a professional practitioner who cares and will guide you to overall better health. JL NM

I was initially in Karen's group classes and have been doing weekly personal training sessions for the last four months. Karen has a broad range of sports experience and a wealth of training knowledge. I was initially wanted work on my golf swing and she was a single digit handicapper. I later wanted to do weigh lifting and she had been a competitive lifter. Karen has continually changed my workouts as I have progressed and really pushes me across a broad range of full body exercises. Be prepared to work hard, but I fully recommend.

Ashley helped me to expand my mind, think differently, and explore possibilities I didn't even think of! Her guided meditation has been an integral part of this process - she personalized my practice based on parts of myself I wanted to improve upon. I also took advantage of her personal training too. You can't go wrong with her unique but effective approach to coaching! She's great!

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

          What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

          What is a career coach?

If you’re interested in furthering your career and want expert help, a career coach is a smart solution. A career coach is a professional you hire to guide you during a job search or a career transition, or to help you improve and advance in your current position. A career coach analyzes your work situation and learns what your professional goals are. They then create a strategy to help you achieve your targets. Throughout the process they should provide objective feedback and guide you in approaching the process strategically. Here are some of the tools and tasks a career coach may assist you with:

          • Helping you build a strong resume that reflects your work history, potential, and skills
          • Coaching for interviews and strategies for solid answers built around your resume and the target job
          • Defining your career goals
          • Creating a plan for job searching
          • Improving networking strategies and skills
          • Developing strategies for negotiating raises or promotions
          • Assessing why you’re not getting where you want to go
          • Identifying new positions or career opportunities that fit your skills

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

          Why is career counseling important?

Career counseling can help you discover your career path, help you overcome challenges preventing you from finding happiness in your job, or help you learn more about career opportunities that are available to you. Career counselors are typically counselors who specialize in helping guide people into their best career choices. As professionals, they have typically completed a master’s degree in counseling with a focus on career counseling and bring a nuanced understanding of the emotional blocks that prevent someone from doing what they love or getting ahead in their current position. Here are some of the ways that career counseling can help:

          • Identify your skills and talents and how they correlate to different career paths
          • Educate you about the educational requirements for launching in various careers and what earnings can look like
          • Help you understand the kind of environment you want to work in, and which careers are best suited for that
          • See opportunities to transfer your existing skill set to other career areas
          • Help you identify causes of tension or unhappiness in your current career and how to overcome those difficulties
          • Help you create a game plan for moving forward
          • Provide a safe space for you to understand your feelings about career choices you’re making

How much does it cost to hire a career coach?

A career coach provides one-on-one sessions to help you reach your career goals or overcome any challenges you’re having in your career path. The cost to have career coaching can vary based on factors such as the number of sessions you purchase at one time and the experience and rates of your counselor. Career counselors are typically professionals who have earned at least a master’s degree in their field. Based on their academic background, supplemental certifications they have received, and any postdoctoral work they have done, their rates may vary. Typically career counselors offer reduced rates when you sign on for their services on an ongoing basis. A typical price range for career counseling services (nationally) could be $75-$150 per session. Remember to always ask if the career counselor offers a complimentary introductory session. You want to make sure the relationship will be the right personality and counseling style fit to help launch your confidence and upcoming career changes.
