Introduction: When you're searching for someone to help with your dog's behavior and training, hire someone with experience and knowledge. If you are looking for results and a common sense approach to training your dogs. Together we will develop a relationship based training plan to address all of your goals. I provide in home training for dogs and their humans. I also can help with behavior modification for issues like nuisance barking, general obedience, aggression, separation anxiety and leash manners as well as new puppy training services. Whatever you are looking for, I have probably already helped someone else with similar concerns. I really enjoy seeing the relief my clients experience when they thought there was no hope or had been told their dogs behavior could not be changed. As a professional with 16 years of experience, I can help when others have failed.

We have had our first training with Pete and our puppy, Tucker! I’m feeling energized and confident our pup will be a good, obedient dog because of the instructions from Pete! We still have more sessions and all the support we could ask for! I definitely recommend!

Details: 0 - 6 months old • Large (41 - 70 lbs) • Private lessons • Puppy training • Leash pulling • House training • Biting • Chewing • My home, venue, etc.

Pete is an excellent trainer. Even though, with previous dogs, we have been through several types of training. Having Pete in the home he shows us real world ways to train our Samoyed puppy in such a way as she doesn't forget what she learned as soon as she leaves the trainer's premise. Highly recommend Better Manners for any dog training needs.

Details: 1 dog • 0 - 1 years old • Small (16 - 25 lbs) • Puppy training • House training • Digging • Biting • Chewing • Crate training • Private dog training lessons • I travel to the dog trainer • The dog trainer travels to me

I feel like he understands our dog and more importantly, how to train US to relate to him! Looking forward to working together over the next several months so that Charlie feels comfortable and "at home!"

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Pricing varies based upon the number of dogs to be trained and the level of service the customer needs. We generally don't offer a one size fits all approach as every situation is different and everyones budget is not the same. I work with my customers to choose the appropriate level of service to address their needs. The larger packages of lessons reduces the potential cost per session down to under $65 per session. The smallest package drives the cost to $175. per session.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We discuss goals and procedures by telephone before beginning. Once a decision has been made to move forward, an appointment is schedule to begin training. On the first appointment I assess the dog in the home environment and begin the education process for the humans and dogs. At the conclusion of the first appointment a follow up session will be scheduled at an interval to be determined by the amount of progress achieved and the severity of the concerns being addressed.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelors degree and have been training dogs and their humans since 2001. I have studied many of the trainers in the industry from Roger Abrantes to Sophia Yin.
