I have been teaching since 2007 and strive to approach each client as an individual with unique interests, goals and learning styles. I believe that the best motivator is accomplishment and that accomplishment begins with enjoyment. I structure lessons with this in mind.

Michelle is a very patient and professional piano teacher. I have taken adult lessons for over 3 years with great progress and results. She also gave lessons to my young daughter which taught her a love of music that she carries with her to this day! Michelle is an outstanding teacher for everyone, from the beginning child to the adult with any level of previous experience.

I started my first piano lesson at age seven and my last one was at age fourteen. In my fifties my husband bought me a piano and I realized at that moment how much I missed playing. So in my sixties I wanted to take lessons again but felt nervous and scared to play in front of someone. Then I found Aspen Piano Academy. Michelle was wonderful. She was warm and understanding of my fears. She put me at ease. She is encouraging and gives you the confidence that you can do this. Michelle is patient, thoughtful and understanding. I have been taking for three years now and piano is a big part of who I am, thanks to Michelle. She is a great teacher and you can tell she loves what she does.

Each week, Michelle had me play my assigned music. She gave me tips on how to improve my song to make it perfect. She didn't go too easy or too hard on me. Michelle's kindness calmed me down whenever I played the piano. Seven years later, I can say-- without a doubt-- that Michelle is an amazing teacher who taught me that music is a way of relieving stress and a way of life.

Michelle was a fantastical piano teacher for me. I worked with her for 4+ years and she always found a new way to develop my passion for piano. When I came to her with a new idea or need as far as learning piano went she would go out of her way to find a way to do it. I have taught all ages, from 4 to 94! I am just as engaging and dedicated in my teaching of brand new beginners as I am in my instruction of those with previous experience.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My best advice is to find a good fit! Every instructor instructs differently and brings their own unique personality to their sessions. I believe progress begins with enjoyment, and I infuse my sessions with fun and humor, all the while holding my clients to a standard of success they can be proud to accomplish.
