FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing ranges from $45-70 per hour, depending on the needs of the student. I charge higher rates for students who require more non-session time from me in materials and session planning. These rates are negotiable.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet with my students in safe locations in public, like cafes or libraries, or in their homes. I must be able to meet the parents or guardians of minor students. My first session with any student is spent getting to know the student, their school situation, their hobbies and talents, what frustrates them, and what their expectations of me and our time together are. For school classes, I will want to see syllabi, textbooks and any old tests, quizzes and homework assignments. For test prep, I will want to see any practice text results. The student should have their own copy of a test prep book. I can recommend my favorites. I encourage feedback from students towards me. I have lots of different ways of presenting information, if something is not working for them, I can easily modify my approach. I make no guarantees for text performance or grades. I will not do the students' work for them.
