Introduction: I cannot speak for others, but my students are able to pass college entrance exams that pertain to music theory, ear training, and composition techniques after studying with me. All training and credentials aside, it is imperative that students be able to play with proper technique, have an understanding of how music is glued together, and be able to perform naturally without the need for charts and extensive thought during performance. My ultimate goal is for my students to compose and understand how and why others have composed in the fashion they have. Being a part of something great in my students lives. Teaching and studying is more than just playing songs, it's about life, art, relationships, philosophy, discipline, and mastering many disciplines in life so that one achieves balance and harmony from the simple succession of successful days.
