FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am hugely supportive of continuing education and feel that if a professional is not doing it then they are doing a disservice to their Coachees and themselves. I always believe if you stop learning, you stop pushing your boundaries and therefor you cannot encourage your Coachees to do the same. Walk to talk baby!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had been a mental health counselor in various programs in New York City and during supervision would get dinged for being too direct with clients at times. In coaching this approach works because unlike therapy, the assumption of coaching is that the client is a whole being, no pathology. This assumption allows the Coach and Coachee to be on an equal level. I love this assumption because it develops autonomy, self discovery through new behaviors and support for the new behaviors.
