My Carrier 58MCB furnace was making a loud buzzing noise. I was quoted $75 for what I thought was the total labor necessary. Prime Performance Mechanical made it clear that the price of parts would be added to the $75 quote. The motor was determined to be bad, and I think the replacement was around $200 (I don't have my receipt with me now). The final bill came out to $400 so there was some additional labor charges. My furnace is working great, response time was next day, and I think that good work was performed, but some people quoted lump sum bids of $300 for the service. I may have gotten a (less reliable; shorter lifetime; etc) cheaper motor with the $300 bids, but it still has me second guessing my decision and that is the only reason I am rating Prime Performance Mechanical 4 versus 5 stars.

I am truly sorry that you wasn't happy with your experience. After showing up and finding the problem I called to make sure you wanted to go a head and have me fix the problem and you had no arguments with the price. I always like my customers to call other companies and get other quotes and I have been in this trade for 15 years and I don't know of a single tech that will replace a motor for $300. My pricing is nearly $500 less than a larger company. But I do apologize I wasn't able to meet your budget. Thanks, Matt
