Our daughter who attends Denver School of the Arts has been taking weekly classical guitar lessons from Michael for about a year. Michael has been a great fit for her. He is highly educated skilled technically, and has an approach that makes a tween girl not dread her lessons. Her position, music reading and technique have improved quite a bit over the year. Michael is professional, nice and has a good sense of humor to boot. We had tried lessons with 2 other instructors and he is overall much better than the other teachers.

I have been trying to find a music teacher that I really like and it's been hard. I really am kind of upset because no teacher has ever taught me what he has in two lessons. I have learned a lot more then in the last two lessons compared to other tecahers in the past. I would strongly recommend him for bass, keyboard and guitar. If you wanta be a professional musician and be in a band or just for fun he is the guy to take lessons from.

I have known Jeff since his early childhood, about the time he first picked up a guitar. He has always been intuitive, inventive and refreshing in his own creativity. I know he possesses a tremendous integrity in life and his passion for music. Investing in JR Guitar is not just music lessons but an opportunity to learn dedication from a true musician and inspiration from a wonderful human being. I endorse Jeff whole heartedly and recommend his course to all who desire the same. William L Ruhl- singer/song writer HOTC studio.

My son was hesitant to start his guitar lessons, and if he didn’t like it, it would be a major ordeal to get him in the car to go. I work like everyone and have zero time left. The fact that Tess comes to the house to teach - while I prepare dinner - is freaking awesome. What a time saver. And shes made it a great experience by offering tons of encouragement and lots of laughter wrapped up in a neat 30 min session. Highly recommend.

I've been taking acoustic guitar lessons from Doug Wilmarth for a year now and have thoroughly enjoyed and learned from the experience. Doug teaches electric guitar as well. He is professional, incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and experienced. I recommend him highly! Great guy; great teacher!

Lyles guitar lessons show you how to see the guitar as a greater picture within music, improving your phrases and leads with a thoughtful outlook on musical theory. Whether you want to play rock, blues, metal, or jazz, this guy has great guitar chops and wants to help you get better with yours.

Great school! Had been learning guitar on my own for a while and got stuck in a rut so I decided to try out lessons. Russ has been a great teacher and I've learned a ton of new techniques that I never would have tried on my own. Very laid back and flexible. Would recommend to anyone.

Rick has a strong classical guitar background in addition to his bass guitar experience. That combined with his years of teaching a wide range of age groups and ability levels gives me confidence that Rick will help me progress my skill and enjoyment in bass playing. After only two lessons I already have some concrete techniques to work on that will help me improve. We have also developed a short term plan to improve my confidence in playing up and down the neck.

We love working with Moises! After just two weeks of tutoring, my daughter said "Now I understand the mistakes I have been making in math and I also understand how to do it right next time. I am starting to like math." Moises knows how to teach so that the information goes from short term memory to long term memory. We also have my son taking guitar lessons with Moises. He loves it so much he has requested lessons twice a week. We feel fortunate to have found someone who can work effectively with a student with ADD and that is an overall great teacher and kind person.

My daughter has been taking lessons at Littleton School of Music for almost three years, mainly piano, but some guitar and some voice, and she has become a pretty good player. More than that, she loves music and playing and singing, and that will last her a lifetime. I love that her lessons are tailored to her musical interests and goals, and can be adjusted as those shift. A few months ago I started taking guitar lessons there myself, and I'm so happy I did. My lesson is one of the highlights of my week. The staff at the school are engaging and professional and enthusiastic. The school offers opportunities to perform for students who are so inclined. The summer band camp is an amazing experience. I just can't say enough great things about this wonderful place, and the people who work there!

I hired Matt for 1 hour beginner guitar lessons. He was very patient with me as I was new to guitar. I continue to take lessons from Matt every week and have seen a lot of improvement. Matt really shows his passion for music through his teaching. I highly recommend him as a teacher.

Sean is a brilliant bass teacher. He is highly knowledgeable about his instrument and about music theory. He has a knack for understanding what the student needs. I learned the basics much more quickly than I thought I would. Sean is so patient that I always felt that it was safe for me to make mistakes, which greatly accelerated my progress.

Jeremy has been giving me bass lessons for the past 3 months or so, and in that time we have strived closer to my goal of learning about music theory in each lesson. Jeremy clearly puts effort into preparing his lessons for the needs of individual students, and does a great job delivering those. Furthermore, he understands the subtleties of several different styles of music including jazz, classical, and rock. Jeremy uses that knowledge to talk about how different types of music are played on bass as part of his lessons, which I think is extremely interesting. Ultimately though, what I appreciate most is Jeremy's demeanor. I was initially very nervous to have my bass playing judged by a teacher, but his easy going and somewhat team oriented approach quickly put me at ease with making mistakes and learning from those mistakes. I would definitely recommend Jeremy to anyone wanting to take bass lessons. I'm certain he will put the effort in to help you achieve your specific goals. He seems to enjoy not only the music, but the teaching of it as well.

There are many good guitarists out there. There are many good teachers out there. It is a rare thing, however, to find a good teacher as well as a good guitarist all wrapped up into a neatly organized, always on time, affordably priced package. Chris, while being a masterful guitarist and skilled bandleader, juxtaposes this with a no quit attitude when it comes to what his students are capable of. I have been a student of Chris’s for over 8 years now, and I find that every lesson I learn something new. He is also capable of teaching much more than guitar if you ask him to. Unlike your stereotypical guitar teacher who views their teaching as a “day job” and their music as their passion, with Chris they are one and the same. In fact, when I was in 5th -8th grade, I organized a group of students to be in a band with me called “Demolition”. Not only did Chris embrace my creativity, he also encouraged it and helped us develop our own songs, rather than copy others. In fact, Chris does not teach guitar so that one can copy others’ music, but rather teaches you others’ music in the hope you will use it as inspiration for your own. Chris teaches things that cannot be quantified by normal metrics. He can teach you what 4/4 timing is, but he can also teach you how to “Jam Out!” and just have a good time. Because at the end of the day, if your not having fun, you won’t stick through the hard parts. Chris can, however, teach you a song- note-for-note if that is your style. When I attended Kent Denver high school, Chris taught me every single note of Santana’s leads in the song “Smooth”, which I later performed at the top Jazz club in Denver, “Dazzle”. Not only did Chris make that possible, but he also drove down from where he lives in Boulder, Colorado and stayed for every last second of the show. It was and is the highlight of my years with Chris. Teaching notes from a book is one thing, but teaching them from ear is another thing entirely. Chris has an amazingly accurate ear. He can tune a guitar better then my most expensive tuner. But most of all Chris recognizes that the student-teacher relationship is a two way street. He is constantly evolving his style as students introduce him to new material. It is that open minded and gentle teaching style that makes Chris the perfect guitar teacher especially for young people. Like Michelangelo said, “I am still learning,” and so is Chris.

        About

I am very passionate about music and I greatly enjoy passing on the theory and methods of learning that I was taught when I first started. I try to make each lesson fun and challenging according to the students abilities. I also try to incorporate a healthy blend of ear training and music theory into each lesson so that the student is growing holistically as a musician.

I would like to progress quickly and play songs that I like, which are songs by norah jones, adele, ben howard, etc. Learning with sons I recognize is very important to getting me hooked on learning. On Thursdays I can meet any time of day. The other days I can only do evenings. I would prefer a teacher that is young fun and laid back.

I have had lessons in the past from two teachers whose style was a good match for me (i.e. they didn't make me learn to read music!), and I took one class from a teacher who was determined to have me be able to sight-read music or not play at all. The latter is the approach that turned me off of piano lessons as a kid since I've always learned best by ear. However, now I am more interested in learning to read music (and hopefully more able), and so l, if possible, I would like someone who is somewhere in between the aforementioned styles of instruction. I would like to have some focus on learning to read sheet music without it being imperative to me making pretty sounds! I took about 3 months or so of classical/flamenco guitar lessons in Spain and fell in love, but I'm open to just about anything you may want to show me. I also have a ukulele I've been tinkering around on and would like to make it sound like something other than a toy one day!
