Walter came bright and early the day after we contacted him. He completed all necessary work and even went out of his way to buy and install an extra pipe part for us. He was flexible with our schedule. We will definitely use him again for other household projects
Harry did a great job on my bathroom. He installed wainscoting and did trim work over old pink tile. Harry is professional and reliable. I will hire him again!
He installed base board trim in living room, and registers in bedrooms. Finished job completely, worked around my schedule and charged a fair price. Would definitely hire again.
John is very accommodation and made everything look good under a budget while meeting and exceeding my expectations! The job wasn't easy, he had to repair mistakes made by previous contractors. New sub floors and flooring, trim, cabinets, drywall and repairs, plumbing of the toilet and sinks and vanities. It's a very old apt and nothing is square or even but he made it look fresh and new!
Bathroom piping rerouting, remove and install new vanity, recessed lighting and exhaust vent installation and popcorn ceiling removal. Luther was such an outstanding contractor. Very knowledgable, good pricing and did not raised prices or did less work. Not once I saw him slack, just killing time. He made things work and really gave me confidence that I was getting what I paid for. Without a doubt I will have him on my speed dial for future projects. Those negative reviews on his profile, not even close to the job Luther performs. He is extremely professional and takes pride on his work. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Jofre, Edison, Juan and the others in the crew did an excellent job. I am more than pleased. They transformed my house and my deck into something that each time I drive up to it or sit on my deck, I feel on top of the world. It's a good feeling when your house looks so good when before it looked just so-so or worse. My house needed painting as well as wood to replace the trim and other areas that had rotted. They replaced the rotted wood on the house, and did the same with the deck for the planks and the steps and the gazebo area where a hot tub once stood. Then they worked their magic with the paint. I highly recommend JCEC. They are professional and clearly take pride in their work.
I had Chris replace an old AC sleeve in my home. I was a little worried about the outside. We live in a townhouse and our HOA is notoriously very picky about any work done on the outside of the units. Anyway the one we had was from when the house was built and the ac we were using was old and didn’t fit well. We decided to get what we wanted and have chris do the work which included trim work on the inside and outside, closing up the existing hole which was larger than what we ordered. Chris and his helper arrived on time, and even communicated prior to confirm they would be. The communication prior to the work was very prompt as well. He and his helper are both very friendly and personable (I have a 2 year old daughter who has a lot of questions). The work was done efficiently and the space was left cleaner than it was found. The cost was more than fair, the quality of the work was great, and we are very happy with the result. If I could give 6 stars I would. We will certainly be using him again for other projects we have around the house.
Carlos and his team were prompt, efficient and professional. They painted our wood siding and front and back porches, including a complicated Victorian gingerbread-style porch. They also repaired some rotted window sills and added missing trim. I appreciated Carlos' clear communication throughout the project, and attention to detail. And our house looks fantastic!
Bruce Ring replaced an exterior door for me today. I received notification from Thumbtack with names of three people who would be available for the job. I asked two of them to provide estimates for me. Bruce was very thorough and let me know what needed to be done other than just my basic request. It was obvious that Bruce was concerned about the quality of the finished job which is why I decided to hire him The job was completed in one day. The exterior door as well as a new wooden screen door were installed and trim replaced where necessary. Both doors work beautifully. Bruce went above and beyond by installing a mechanical door bell for me at no extra cost. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needed work done.
I could not be happier with the results of Mike's performance. He was extremely patient with all of my questions and very thorough with his execution of the tasks at hand. My project consisted of a remodel of a condo, with Mike being selected for the project of installing new kitchen cabinets. However, as soon as I saw the initial results of the first couple cabinets, I asked if he could expand the project to include the plumbing connection for new sink and dishwasher, as well as install of an over the range microwave. In addition, I decided that installing new vanities (one in a 1/2 bath, and one in a full bath) should be added to his work and he responded superbly with excellent craftsmanship as well as completion in a timely fashion. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that there was a problem with the "levelness" of the flooring that held up the install of new hardwood. A quick "Mike, can you help me out?" call and Mike resolved the issue the next day, thus keeping my remodel project on time. Mike will definitely be the first call I make for any future carpentry projects, and I very highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a reliable, experienced, competent carpenter.
Ben is very conscientious and reliable. Excellent communication and workmanship. I highly recommend him. He replaced trim and repaired doors on our outside shed as well as cleaned our gutters.
I hired Behrendts Best to install a new vanity and top in my basement bathroom. Tom was professional, courteous, and always communicating. His work was just a professional and thorough as he was. Would hire again
He did an amazing job with the sliding doors. Neat and perfect trim around the doors. Cleaned up after himself. Professional and responded in a timely manner. Will contract again for future projects.
We hired this company to install new vanities , floors , tiles and tubs in the 2 bathrooms of our rental property. They were very professional and worked hard. The result was better than expected. We were very happy and so was our tenants.
My husband and I hired Mike Goodman to install a replacement picture window, expand a doorway to an interior room, mount our flat screen television and replace a door and trim to our attic stairway. Mike was also able to recommend an electrician to install recessed lighting in our living room and playroom, as well as, install outside lighting. Mike did a great job on the carpentry work and oversaw the electrician work. He made sure that we were satisfied with the completed work. He provided reasonable pricing and we will definitely be hiring him again for future upgrades in our home.
I have an 80's condo that needs a full remodel and wasn't sure where to start. Mark was recommended to me by a coworker. He came in, looked the place over, discussed my must haves and my wish list and gave me an estimate on the first project. Starting on the main level he removed a partition wall to open my kitchen. Then he removed the popcorn finish on my cathedral ceiling, refinished and painted it. I was very happy with the results so I had him continue with my list. I work a lot so I gave him a key. He comes and goes as he needs to and I have no worries. He installed my bamboo floors on a diagional because it's the design I wanted. When I couldn't get trim to match he took flooring to his shop and made custom transitions and thresholds. He installed a tile entry with more custom trim. He built an island where the wall had been to hold my new sink and dishwasher which included relocating the plumbing, electrical and all new outlets. He even made "countertops" out of cardboard so I could see exactly how it would all fit in the room and where to locate the faucet. Through all of this he has been easygoing and helpful with the many decisions I needed to make. He also had no problem with me doing what I can-painting and cabinets to keep costs down and working with the tradesmen I brought in to do code work. I have recommended him to friends and family one of whom thanked me for sending her "a guy who is so honest" when he told her it would be cheaper for her to replace a damaged ceiling than to have him patch it up. Next will be new floors, more popcorn removal, ceiling fixtures and new tile in the bathroom upstairs and Mark will be doing all of it. This is not my first reno but it is as easier than any of the others. I will post pictures shortly so you can see why I'm so happy.
Kevin structurally fixed the framing in my 1925 farmhouse, reinsulated it (it had tarpaper insulation), raised the ceilings upstairs (his idea since there was only a small crawlspace there), re-roofed part of my house and several outbuildings, installed several vintage windows, rebuilt my interior stairs, structurally improved my basement, built several cedar closets, and improved my bathroom layout. He completed everything from demolition to framing to insulation and drywall/taping to painting. He also built a 4th stall in my horse barn in an atypical space. Kevin worked on my house/barn/outbuildings/roofs periodically over two years and improved/built/fixed everything wonderfully, from small details to new roofs to large framing corrections from what the original builders had done in 1925. He worked closely with me in the decision-making process, often providing me with ideas and improvements that had not occurred to me that resulted in a beautiful and functional living space far exceeding my expectations. Kevin was very cost-effective in his material choices often re-using original 1925 materials that produced a period effect that also happened to be gorgeous. He was more than fair in his pricing, and I liked how he had me control the purchase/payment of materials directly so that I managed material costs and could transparently see what I was paying for without worrying about hidden costs or mark-ups. I have worked with several carpenters over time, and Kevin was far superior to any of them in his knowledge, experience, ideas and overall professionalism. He kept the job site very clean as I continued to live in my home while work went on, and he always made it as easy and comfortable as possible given the large scale of some remodel phases. Kevin has many sourcing resources - for example, I found a pair of vintage windows that were also energy efficient in a small store I hadn't heard of that really brought my dining room together. Kevin built a horse stall in my barn in the side section with a low, slanted roof. He made several adjustments to the ceiling before closing it in so that my horse had more head room. He had to create a 4th wall that was strong enough to stand up to a horses antics, which he partially did by creating a pocket door to add reinforcement. He was well versed with the safety requirements of horses, and my horse loves her new home. You can see several pictures of the stall on his website, hitthepin.com Kevin built several windows in the barn both for ventilation and so that my horses could see out, and he also fixed interior and exterior barn doors that were in need of facelifts to make them safe again. Kevin replaced the flat section of roof on my house (from an addition), thereby also fixing a leak around my chimney that four other roofing specialists had failed to correct. No more leak now! He also performed work on several of my farm outbuildings, from roofs, to gutters, to seating on an elevated deck. In summary, I found Kevin to be the ultimate professional and an innovative craftsman. His creativity and artistry add another dimension to his carpentry skills, which is a true benefit for his customers. I recommend Kevin and Hit the Pin to anyone who seeks a multi-faceted, talented artisan who works very hard, efficiently, courteously and cost-effectively.
AJ helped with a difficult water heater replacement that needed to be installed in a limited space. He was prompt and professional. Cost of the job was extremely reasonable, especially considering the extra man hours required for some unexpected setbacks we encountered. I would be happy to call on him for future service.
Our experience with Ken was wonderful! Ken installed two exterior doors and storm doors as well as framed out and interior doorway in our home. He was very professional yet personable and his price was competitive. He clearly has years of experience as his work is very very good. We are very happy with the work Ken did and will definitely call upon him in the future to do the many other projects on our list.
