Introduction: I have been repeatedly told I can quickly identify student's strengths and weaknesses. Working with that, I tailor sessions to a student's need. This individualized learning helps students make quicker, and further, progress overall. My goal is to have the student quickly working independently. I love working with students of all levels. Whether it is a middle-schooler having an "ah-ha" moment; or a high-schooler realizing that the SAT or ACT math is NOT as hard as it first appears (once I show them how), or the particularly inspiring experience of working with those pursuing a nursing, military or educational career, I am thrilled to be a part of helping people achieve their goal.

Diane was patient and reliable. She provided me with hints and tips that definitely helped me pass the math portion of the Praxis II. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to pass a test!!

I am a 24 year old college student and I needed to take a statistics class to complete my undergraduate degree. I am a pretty average student when it comes to math, and the only class available was an online course that was mostly self-taught. Diane helped me understand the weekly lessons, and also helped me with my term project as well as prepping for my exams. I would definitely hire her again should I need any help with my graduate school math classes. She is a great teacher and I would highly recommend her.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I meet students in their home, or a mutually convenient library or cafe/fast food place. There is a small travel surcharge for meeting more than 20 min travel from the Danbury Mall, which is discussed upon request.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I take both "long term" and "short term" assignments, and there is never a long term commitment. Most of my students are high schoolers, needing help with SAT or ACT prep, a high school math or chemistry course. The next most frequent client is a professional or college student looking for help with the pre-nursing exam, the Praxis multiple subjects or elementary education exam, the ASVAB or the GRE. I also take students preparing for private school entrance exams such as the ISEE, SSAT or HPST. My expertise is in math and the sciences. If I haven't mentioned the area you need help with, please contact me!

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Please do an internet search for reviews and feedback! Just be warned - some sites, like tutors' own websites or other tutor listing sites, may allow anyone to post feedback. Other sites post feedback ONLY from clients who have had a session with that tutor, and the tutor cannot alter or delete it. The latter is inherently more trustworthy. I always recommend checking which type of review you are looking at.
