Nice and professional. did not feel that confident about GRE specific prep.
Before I, the student, began working with Jeremy, I was having little to no improvement in consecutive SAT exams. I was having so much trouble trying to figure out the proper way to study, in how I could improve myself and jump into the 1500s which was my goal. However, I was leveling out at about the high 1300s, with a loss on what to do. Kaplan Test Prep did not help much, as they provided often passive learning strategies, and failed to really help the student with effective, real-working strategies. Jeremy Fine knows the ins and the outs of not only the SAT but the ACT as well. His vast knowledge about the exams, combined with his professionalism in them and in colleges globally (college prep as well), made him the perfect tutor that ultimately improved my test score by more than 100 points in the span of 5 weeks! The strategies that he gave me, and the vigor that he gave every motivating speech with, really helped me learn how to tackle every single question. I would recommend Jeremy to anybody who really wants to improve with a passion. Obviously, Jeremy is not a miracle maker, who can automatically increase a score by hundreds without the student doing any work. I worked very hard, and Jeremy takes that very seriously. But coming from a kid who finds standardized testing almost impossible, he really seemed like a magician to me.
I have always hated math and have memories of being yelled at to finish my homework and being in tears because I simply did not understand it. This fear of math started in elementary school and carried itself all the way to college where I had to start in remedial math courses. I now am in the process of studying for a big test and needed help to develop the skills needed to do well on the math portion. Peter was able to simplify the process so that I could better understand this basic math. He never made me feel bad when I had to count with fingers, yikes! I feel I have improved greatly in just the 2 sessions we've had. I'm very excited to improve even more! Who knew I'd come to be excited for a math lesson! Thank you Peter.
Josh is a great tutor. He helped my daughter with math and SAT prep. Very reliable and highly recommended .
Abe tutored me in college algebra. Over the course of about 1 month my grades went from a C plus to an A minus. He is patient and has a unique way of explaining things. I highly recommend him to others.
Eve was an outstanding tutor for the ISEE. We hired her with just 6 weeks to go until the test - we had been using a New Haven-based tutoring company that just was not doing the job - in that very short period of time Eve managed to coach our daughter from the middle of the pack (ISEE steniles 4 and 5) toward the top (stiles 6 and 7). Plus she was very flexible about scheduling and was amenable to meeting our daughter in New Haven. We only wish we'd enlisted her sooner! We will definitely seek her assistance for our next set of test preps!
we hired Hallie to tutor our hs junior son for the april ACT. she was pleasant, courteous and effective. he scored 33 and we are very very happy with the outcome.
I contacted Altea because I was studying for the GRE. I had not taken a math course in 24 years, and I had very little memory of Algebra and Geometry. Altea and I met within a week of our first contact, and we met weekly after that. She is wonderful tutor. Her knowledge and passion for math was just what I needed to get excited about an exam that scared me so much. She was always on time and was always prepared. Altea is kind and patient, and she has a wonderful sense of humor. I highly recommend Altea for help with coursework and/or test preparation.
Excellent help with son for college prep test and with study skills.
I was a part of a small SAT prep group and one of the most helpful things that we did was work on problems together. Often SAT prep and the like are very solitary learning experiences but learning in a group setting made it much easier to understand
I am a 24 year old college student and I needed to take a statistics class to complete my undergraduate degree. I am a pretty average student when it comes to math, and the only class available was an online course that was mostly self-taught. Diane helped me understand the weekly lessons, and also helped me with my term project as well as prepping for my exams. I would definitely hire her again should I need any help with my graduate school math classes. She is a great teacher and I would highly recommend her.
Dan was professional, thoughtful, and knowledgeable in his capacity as an educator and manager of Bulldog Tutors. Dan evaluated my son's needs and perfectly placed him with an outstanding tutor for S.A.T prep. I was so impressed with Dan's expertise and support that I referred several friends to enroll their kids in his program as well. They have been thrilled with the results.
Harry has tutored two of my sons with great result. Harry is timely, good at pursuing appointments with the kids, and provides great feedback. Both of my sons liked Harry conversational style and his clear explanations. Both showed marked increases in their grades and understanding. I'd happily recommend Harry again!

Hello! My name is Matt. I'm a mathematics and biology double major with a minor in economics. I love to read, bike, and run! I've been a mathematics tutor at my university for the past 3 years, with courses ranging from high school algebra to mathematical statistics as well as Calculus III. In addition, I've been a scribe for various levels of statistics courses (preparing notes and class material for students) as well as a classroom learning assistant, providing help to students outside of regular class hours.
The best way to learn is to learn from an expert. I like to see students grow - in their skills, confidence, and enthusiasm.
