Judith excelled in drawing out what skills one has and how to articulate them on resume and cover letter. Clear, concise, and easy to talk to, making it more productive during sessions. I highly recommend her talents and services to those who might be stuck in a rut or trying to refine their career choices.Mar 1, 2018Verified
I truly enjoyed working with Judy. She was very positive and encouraging and helped me to realize things about myself that I had not thought of before. :)Sep 15, 2017Verified
I was in need of a change of focus and had no clear next step to aim for. When I found Judy Garfinkels services, her approach-ability made me brave enough me to ask for her the help I was looking for. Her understanding and enthusiasm for all topics dissolved my embarrassment at needing such assistance and so our work together quickly became a painless exploration of possibilities and a game out of identifying unforeseen skills. Through our sessions and her seminars, I have gained a broader perspective of what the world has to offer and more insight as to where my talents might be best utilized. I am so grateful for Judys guidance in helping me to bring the world within reach and broadening my reach in the world. - C. D. JohnstonJan 11, 2016Verified

Working with Judy has been incredibly helpful. She helped me put things I know into words so that potential employers understand what I have to offer and see my value. My resume, cover letter, interview pointers, next steps--these were all part of the work we did together. I can't wait to see what's next because coaching with Judy is really awesome.Aug 2, 2019
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Pricing depends on your coaching focus, and whether my work with you involves travel or we work locally or via phone/online. I offer different packages and often run special offers for Thumbtack clients. Email me, or give me call, and we can chat about your needs to help determine the best package for you.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Whether you've hired me for life coaching or career coaching, the general coaching structure is the same. We begin with a free consultation call in which I get a sense of what you need and we discuss how I can help and what that can look like in terms of time, fees, and resources. If we decide to work together, I then send you a packet with materials which can include questions to help you think about your life/career and your goals. The way your coaching proceeds after that depends on what we've discussed together, your unique goals, and your focus. Throughout working together, we are continually assessing your satisfaction and progress.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am a Board Certified Life and Career Coach. I have a Master's Degree in Holistic Thinking, and am a Certified Focusing Professional (see below). I am continually learning through workshops and reading books on topics ranging from willpower, the science of change, coaching itself, positive psychology, adult learning theory, ADD/ADHD, and other learning issues in adults. I am an ACC through the International Coaching Federation and participate in their professional development opportunities. I recently completed additional professional development on current trends in resume writing. Previous to coaching I worked in education (teacher, professional development), the performing arts (professional ballet dancer, dance educator) and I am certified in "Focusing," a process of helping people listen to themselves deeply and to grow the skill of listening not to just what a client says, but what he or she means.
