Gutter cleaning on a 1 story home and garage. Showed up right on schedule, was efficient and polite. Did a top notch job. Will call him over again next fall! Great price too, right on his estimate.

I had my entire 4 bedroom house and downstairs basement's carpet cleaned and Katt Carpet did a great job. My downstairs carpets were given extra treatment due to my cat's "accidents". He even came back an extra time to completely get out the urine smell. He cleaned the grout in my kitchen tiles and went beyond expectations by moving out my refrigerator and stove to clean underneath! Highly recommend him for quick responsiveness and staying with the job until it was done!

They were great. We had a one time clean because we just moved in and they got to work right away. There were 3 cleaners and they spent 3 hours. The place was spotless by the time they left. Thanks Maria!

Wonderful service. Ron was on time, professional and did a very thorough job cleaning the carpet and couch in my tv room. I would contact him again the next time I need my carpets cleaned. My carpet and couch look great - even my kids noticed. Everything was dry in about 2-3 hours and I'm so happy it's done and looks great. Ron and his wife Diana were very professional and easy to speak with and schedule what I needed to have done. Thank you.

I chose Stayaway Cleaning to clean both an apartment I was leaving and a house I was moving into. Both places were completed in such a professional and Grade A cleaning. Craig -Stayaway Cleaning cleaned both carpets and kitchen and bathroom in old apartment and left it immaculate. The landlord called to thank us so much for leaving the apartment looking brand new. Craig also shampooed carpets in the new house we moved into and revived a couch in which we thought for sure we would have to replace. I would recommend Craig- Stayaway Cleaning 100% and in the future will ONLY use his company. So very pleased . Thank you Craig .👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We had chosen Marco based on his excellent reviews, but unfortunately we didn't have the same experience as most people. We hired Marco to replace flooring tile in our kitchen, foyer, powder room and laundry room. With the exception of one day where he had to cancel, he did arrive between 8am and 8:30am with a partner and they got to work right away. They were quiet and respectful, but the language barrier was an issue at times. Prior to starting the job, we had mentioned to Marco that although we weren't concerned about the walls since they were being painted, we did request that he be careful around the doors and wood trim which had been painted recently. After he was done, we saw mastic and grout on not just the doors and trim, but also the base of our kitchen cabinets. He wiped off a lot of it, but I continue to find it as I'm cleaning. I do wish he had been neater perhaps taping up a plastic or paper to protect the base of the doors and cabinets. We had also pointed out many areas where there was hazing on the tiles left from the grout not being cleaned off immediately. He tried to remove some of the haze on his last day, but it had been too late to wipe it off without using a haze remover. I wasn't planning on writing a review since his price was reasonable and the items I've mentioned can be cleaned up. However, a few weeks into the job and the grout is now coming out of the joints in pieces. I've attached photos of where I was using a lightweight stick vacuum to clean the kitchen floor and the grout just got sucked right up. When I went to investigate, the grout just crumbles into powder when you pick it up. I'm not a tile expert, but it seems like perhaps the grout that he used in this area was too dry? I'm pretty frustrated at this point because I keep finding little areas here and there where the grout has just disintegrated. I know there were areas where they had not fully scraped out the mastic between the joints and just laid grout on top (which I know isn't proper), so they went back and scraped out some of these areas and regrouted, but even then, this should not be happening. It's been exactly 3 weeks since he finished the job and the grout should not be coming up like this so easily; it's like powder. The cracked grout is throughout the floor. I can't even say it's concentrated to one area, so I don't know what happened, but it's very disappointing.

As I have lived in my home for 30 years, I have hired carpet and furniture cleaners quite a few times. I have had some good experiences and some not as good. I have to say that this was the best, most thorough cleaning I have ever experienced. Ben arrived on time, reviewed the job and began to set up immediately. He explained what he was going to do and what he needed and got right to work. The team was the most professional and efficient I have seen. One of the reasons I hired them was the reviews on this site, and they lived up to and exceeded my expectations. They were reasonably priced, and did an excellent job. I will hire them again next time. Thank you again.

Grace is such a find! My experience with her is all positives. She gave a fair estimate for her services. She arrived promptly at the appointed time. She brought all of her own cleaning supplies and vacuum cleaners. Grace was very high energy and cleaned my house top to bottom. When finished, she insisted that we walk around together to make sure nothing was forgotten. I couldn't be happier!

Hire Rose! Rose is an exceptional cleaner and organizer and her energy and positive attitude are completely contagious. I just started working with her yesterday. I went from dreading housework to being excited about it in less than an hour. She is incredible. I plan on working with her for a long time. She is much more than a house cleaner and organizer. While respecting your dignity (you will quickly learn you don't have to be embarrassed about anything with Rose) she helps you become organized in a way that works for your family and teaches you how to make this organization last. She also has a great way with kids. We're cleaning up the playroom today, and I want them to help and learn, because she sets the perfect tone- respectful and fun, yet very matter-of-fact. If you are feeling overwhelmed about cleaning and clutter, please contact Rose.

He worked very rapidly (1 -1/2 hours) and the tub cleaning now allows me to re-grout problem areas. He was kind enough to leave me a grout scraping tool which I will return to him very soon. Hope the rest of this project goes as smoothly. While his clean-up is not as thorough as I would have liked, the bathroom needed cleaning anyway.

I was at first sceptical about hiring housekeeping by Natalie because she hasn't done as many jobs as other people. However, she was very professional and I was impressed with her knowledge of cleaning, the cleaners were on time and they did an excellent job, Housekeeping by Natalie will now be my regular service providers. I highly recommend you give this company a try, you won't regret it, and the prices is the best and coupons are available on the website, best company I have seen in a long while.

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

        • Old standard or electric toothbrush
        • Stiff bristle brush
        • Spray bottle
        • White vinegar
        • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
