We hired Rosa to do our wedding cake! She let us have a tasting to try several cakes and they were very delicious. We knew right after the tasting that we want to hire her. She also gave us many ideas and showed us pictures of cakes to help me decide what kind of style we wanted.
Kelsey gave my daughter an in-home cooking lesson. She selected a wonderful menu and was very professional while still being flexible and fun with my daughter. The meal was also superb! My daughter had a wonderful time and is now inspired to be a young chef. Our experience was fantastic and I highly recommend Kelsey.

I must say! When I first heard of Rahea's Kakery, I was a bit curious. The owner being so young. What could she offer? Well I was impressed by the homemade buttercreme icing and the oh so moist cupcakes. FOODWAYS AND FOLKTALES by Vera Oye Yaa Anna In January 2008, Vera Oye Yaa Anna, presented a program for the African Section of the African and Middle Eastern Division of the Library of Congress entitled Foodways and Folklore. As a culinary Griot, Ms. Yaa Anna prepared a buffet meal of Garlic Collard Greens, Couscous, Jerk Turkey, Spinach and Cilantro and fried plantains, with Auntie Oye Pettit Rice Bread Muffins for dessert and a beverage of Alkaline tea, made with ph balanced water. The program was open to the public, and as it was held on a Saturday, many families came. Understandably, there were no left overs. The carefully and tastefully presented food was served alongside folktales and history about how these foods came to be, and the interconnection between Liberia, the native land of Yaa Anna, and the United States. She told the history of how freed slaves came back to Liberia with some influence of the times they spent in the United States. Later in the program, Yaa Anna told humorous, moral tales in the fashion of the Palaver Hut, a Liberian tradition where people hold discussions and tell stories. The three-hour program, which included time to eat the delicious food, time to hear the history of the food and time to hear amusing stories with some sage information embedded in them. Yaa Annas engaging story-telling, healthy and lovingly prepared gourmet dishes made for a fun and educational Saturday for the two dozen visitors, who then asked when are you going to do this again? We here at the Library of Congress would gladly extend the invitation again for this excellent program.
It was such a pleasure to work with Stephanie who designed the most beautiful seashells cake to celebrate an anniversary! We called late in the season but she managed to work us in graciously and relieved our stress. Nothing could have been more beautiful than the two tiered cake the color of sand adorned with white chocolate seashells filled with delicious chocolate caramel! Stephanie guided us in the decision process, was prompt, professional and just a delight to work with. Love in the Detail's cakes comes with our highest recommendation!
When we first met to discuss what we wanted in a wedding cake you thought our selection of pumpkin spice with a French Buttercream filling off the wall and so did my Mom. However, instead of trying to talk us out of it, as she did, you accepted the challenge and delivered a fantastic cake. It was extremely moist and the pumpkin spice flavor was not over powering. Everyone raved about the cake and the ruins writing on each layer. Your cake had a place of honor in the alcove off the main hall on our wedding day. It fit in perfectly with the medieval location we selected for our wedding ceremony and reception. I highly recommend your pastries and cakes, without reservation, to anyone planning a wedding, party or other special event.
