I recently suffered the sudden loss of my mom. As the "leader" of my family, the responsibility for planning her memorial fell entirely on me. While I had most things laid out, I had a very difficult time finding clergy to officiate. I scoured the internet only to find countless officiants for weddings, but none for funerals or memorials; it wasn't even a search option. When Michelle’s organization appeared as a funeral planner, I "shot my shot" and sent a message explaining my desperate need. Michelle responded right away. After I detailed what I was looking for, she simply said, "Easy work." She found an awesome Reverend for me in less than 24 hours. She immediately went to work and delivered without any problems. I am so impressed. Honestly, I truly wish I had found her services when I first started planning; after speaking with her, I instantly trusted her judgment and expertise. Working with Michelle during one of the most difficult times of my life was truly a blessing. Outside of her professionalism and attention to detail - you can tell that she truly cares and understands what people are going through after the loss of a loved one. While not in her job description; her innate ability to navigate emotions and complex family dynamics with grace is what truly sets her apart in my eyes. You can find a million "event planners" but Michelle of MyFuneralPlanner is truly special and it was a gift to work with her. She made my Mother's send off everything she would have wanted. The family kept saying "it felt like mom" - that kind of consistent compliment is only possible when working with somebody who LISTENS and reads between the lines. At times she knew what I needed before I did. While I hope I do not have to navigate another experience like this for a very very long time; I know who I am calling when I do. It was divine providence that I got Michelle with My Funeral Planner. My father is to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery, but I live in South Carolina. She is coordinating the hotel, the reception venue, the caterer, the transportation, the prayer cards, the program and things I probably haven't even thought of yet.
