Introduction: I believe the rapport I have with my clients is of a much higher caliber than with most personal trainers. I've always been told that I'm easy to talk to and 11+ years learning about people and how to motivate and help them as a social worker hasn't hurt either. The more comfortable my clients feel with me, the more meaningful information I have about how best to go about motivating and working with them. This results in a level of personalization of programing that isn't often seen in personal training. In short, as the rapport grows stronger, so does the client. I like the fact that every day is different and every workout has value. I love helping the client realize their goals, but the part I probably love most is when I see that I've helped ignite that fire in a client and I see their hunger for their goal and their commitment towards it really start to grow. When I worked at a commercial gym, I really liked seeing my client's in the gym working out on their own on the in-between days when they weren't scheduled for a session with me. I love when someone "catches the bug" and starts enjoying this lifestyle the way that I do!

Grady has been working with me since the beginning of January. I never really worked out regularly before and was looking for someone to get me going and help me gain some mass and muscle. Grady has been great. He takes the time to make sure I do the work outs correctly and has me on a good plan. I'm seeing the results and have never felt better. I was only planning for a couple months but now heading towards month 4. He's got me more motivated than I've ever been. I also appreciate the fact he was flexible the few times I needed to reschedule due to unforseen circumstances. Highly recommend!

I have been working out with Grady for about 3 months now and couldn't be happier with my decision to choose him as my trainer. He keeps my workouts challenging, fun, and different...never boring. He somehow knows just how hard to push me without overdoing it, but also while helping me to prove to myself that I can handle much more than I initially thought I could... and that is an amazing feeling! I always leave my sessions feeling awesome from getting such a great workout. Grady is fun to train with and very personable, but don't let his easy going and fun loving attitude fool you. He is there to give you a kick-butt workout, which he delivers on 110%. Initially I had only planned to meet with him twice a week, but quickly changed my mind and signed up to meet three times a week. If I was able to, I'd sign up to work out with him even more often. I always look forward to my next workout and can't wait to see what he has in store for me the next time around. In these 3 short months I can definitely feel the positive changes in my body and even better I can see them too! Since meeting and working with Grady I feel that I have made a major positive change in my life and plan to continue on with him even after I reach the personal goals I have set for myself. Grady is a great personal trainer. It is not only his expertise and his ability to help you achieve your personal goals, but he has also been very flexible and has always done his very best to accommodate my ever-changing schedule as much as he possibly can. He is an all around great human being. I can guarantee you that if you have the opportunity to work with him that you will not be disappointed!

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    I saw a picture of myself at my sister's college graduation and decided it was time for a major change. I had never been that overweight or out of shape in my life and I realized I had let it go too far. When I got serious about working out and realized how much I loved all the changes, it didn't take long for the light-bulb to go off that made me realize this is what I should be doing. I got some really good advice from an old friend who had become a personal trainer and began training consistently myself. I became addicted to the positive changes I saw, in my mood, my body, my stress and energy levels, my confidence, how I began interacting differently with people and how people in turn began interacting differently with me. The positive changes to my overall well being were undeniable. I felt like I'd discovered the fountain of youth and needed to pay it forward and share what I'd found.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    There aren't too many providers like me.... That's why you should hire me ,) With that being said, look for someone who digs to find out what motivates you upon the first meeting. This is the sign of a trainer who loves what they do, and will continue to find ways to motivate you over time as you meet old goals and develop new ones.
