FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lesson Rates: Voice lessons are priced per session, with options for single lessons, monthly subscriptions, and/or discounted lesson packages. Packages & subscriptions are recommended for consistent growth and accountability. Package Discounts: Students who purchase multi-lesson packages receive a reduced per-lesson rate compared to single sessions. Payment Policy: Payment is due at the time of booking to reserve your lesson time. Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are non-refundable and cannot be credited. This protects the instructor’s time and availability. Rescheduling: One courtesy reschedule may be offered per package with proper notice, subject to availability. Trial Lessons: Introductory or trial lessons are offered at a special rate and are a great way to ensure a good fit before committing to a package. Additional Fees: There are no hidden fees. Any add-ons (extended lesson time, performance coaching, studio sessions, etc.) are clearly priced in advance. Sliding Scale / Special Considerations (Optional): Limited flexibility may be available for students experiencing financial hardship. Inquiries are handled with discretion and care.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initial Inquiry & Goals Conversation We start with a brief conversation (by email, phone, or trial lesson) to learn about your musical background, goals, and what you’re hoping to develop—whether that’s technique, confidence, performance readiness, or vocal health. Trial / Introductory Lesson New students begin with a trial lesson. This gives us space to assess your voice, discuss your goals in more detail, and make sure our teaching style and expectations are a good fit. Vocal Assessment & Personalized Plan During your first full lesson, we evaluate vocal range, tone, technique, and habits. From there, a personalized lesson plan is created to support your growth and long-term development. Ongoing Lessons & Skill Building Lessons are structured but flexible, focusing on technique, repertoire, musicianship, and expression. We move at a pace that challenges you while honoring your voice and capacity. Progress Check-Ins & Adjustments We regularly check in on your progress and adjust goals, repertoire, and exercises as your voice evolves. Performance & Application Opportunities (When Applicable) For students interested in performance, recording, or auditions, we incorporate preparation and real-world application into lessons.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Music Business degree with a minor in Classical Voice and bring years of live performance experience across a wide range of settings, including churches, musical theater venues, recital halls, festivals, weddings, and corporate events. I currently work as a professional vocalist and R&B/Neo-Soul recording artist, allowing me to teach with both strong technical foundations and real-world performance insight.
