Loved working with Becca and my dog learned so much! Her holistic approach worked very well for us - training both me and my dog to reach functional, realistic goals. We focused on leash reactivity, loose leash waking, and recall with various levels of stimuli. My dog loved her and really enjoyed training with her. She made sure to see him in different environments and was extremely accommodating of our schedule to get a whole picture of his behavior. She travelled to us, saw him in different moods, after different levels of exercise, in different weather and during different times of day. She has an uncanny ability to meet us exactly where we were, find what we would both respond to and guided us to very impressive progress in a matter of days. With her experience as a vet tech and running animal shelters, she understands how much health and environment impact behavior, and is sure to make sure basic needs are covered before getting into the thick of training. She also completely understands the emotional aspect of your connection with your dog, and you leave every training feeling like an empowered dog owner that is ready and able to provide a fantastic life for your dog. I wish I could stay in the area longer, and even considered changing my travel plans just so that my dog could get more time with Becca. Also - her rates are a steal for the level of training she provides! You want to schedule time with her before she becomes the most popular trainer in the region, because its only a matter of time.TLDR: Beccas multi-faceted approach will make your and your dogs life better.

What a great experience! Dont you love working with knowledgeable, experienced, and thoughtful service providers? Becca really has it all! I am a first-time dog owner and was struggling to communicate with my doggy. My dogs behavior and my lack of experience to manage it, made me feel disappointed and embarrassed when we walked in the neighborhood. Peppers barking, growling, and lunging had become notorious among the other walkers. With Beccas training, she now walks by my side and only with provocation from others does she get distracted from me. We still have a lot to learn but Becca has helped me read my dog and Pepper is grateful. We are both much happier. I was fortunate to have heard of Becca from one of my neighbors. What a stroke of luck!

I am beyond impressed by and thankful for Becca of BlackDog Behavior and Training. We adopted a dog from our local shelter last year, and quickly learned about his severe behavioral problems. As first-time dog owners, we felt lost and unequipped to handle our new family member. Becca taught us humane techniques on how to reduce Fergus' stress and overall anxiety levels, and also practiced patience and understanding with our entire family. Not a lot of dog trainers acknowledge the stress that having a "misbehaving" dog places on a family, but Becca constantly reassured us that we were doing a good job, which really helped us get through a tough time. I recommend BlackDog to any dog owners. She truly is the best in the industry.

Absolutely, the BEST decision we could have made for help with our dogs. Our new pups presented behavioral challenges by the time they were two, especially when interacting with our older dogs. After meeting our crazy crew, Becca was able to quickly assess each of their personalities (they're all nuts!) and started with behavior modification sessions. The sessions are fun, informative, and full of energy and her suggested followup homework is easy to follow and practice. We're amazed at how much our dogs love it. We noticed a drastic improvement in just a few sessions!Becca taught us to recognize behavioral cues with our pups and more importantly, how to react positively with them in order to reinforce a desired behavior.We've learned so much about what motivates our pups and how to keep them engaged. We highly recommend Becca and BlackDog Behavior & Training. It will be the best decision you could ever make.

Becca is so knowledgeable and helpful! Her background working with a wide variety of animals really helps her to create tailored plans for individual dogs and owners. Its also really important to me to find a trainer based in science and positive reinforcement to help me bond with my two dogs in the best way!
