- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I make it a priority to learn about my clients' likes and dislikes and engage them in friendly conversation during training sessions. I remain positive and upbeat to motivate & inspire others. I learn what sort of encouragement each client responds to, and I make an effort to create an individualized workout and success plan for them based on their goals as well as physical assessments and functional movement screening tools that will set parameters for the individual that are reasonable but also challenging. Once I assess clients properly, I’ll have an excellent idea of where my clients level of fitness is currently at. The next step I take is to make sure I have a good understanding of my clients goals in order to design a personalized exercise program exclusively just for them! 🌟This is the fun part because I get to help my clients progressively get better and it’s both exciting and rewarding to see their progress and watch them reach their goals! 💥 The most significant tools I’ve found for creating a successful exercise routine are the assessment tests that I talked about above. If the client has multiple muscular imbalances, then that would be an important factor that I’d need to address first and foremost. Making sure to strengthen the overactive muscles and stretch the under-active, in order to try to create balance or correct an imbalance/postural distortion. I do this with a combination of strength & flexibility training techniques involving resistance training to try and get the body centered and moving correctly; or more specifically, moving with the right form that will prevent injury as well as help alleviate any current pain or discomfort in the body from improper past movements. There is an infinite number of workout routines that I can create for my clients to help them reach their goals! There are thousands of different exercises, and new ones being established/created each day. It’s finding the right combination of exercises for each client that makes all the difference. With 6+ years in the fitness industry, working in various gyms, studios, country clubs, schools and athletic facilities— I’ve had the opportunity to train clients with a great variance in age, fitness level, and goals. By gaining this experience working with different clients after many years gaining new knowledge to build on what I already know and learned, I feel confident in saying that I am a great personal trainer. I’ve only gotten better each year, month and day that goes by at being able to uniquely and effectively implement proper workout routines for each of my specific clients, regardless of any ‘limitations’ they msg think they have. While some limitations are physical and take time to heal or fix, others (most) are mental — and my job is to rid you of any mental negative or dismissive thoughts in regards to your fitness.

- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It’s the best job in the world! I’m wake to get to help people make a positive change in their life, which is the ultimate goal of fulfillment for both them and myself. Helping people help themselves and motivating people to be the best version of themselves each and every day is something I’m very proud to be able to do. I’m very enthusiastic and want to make sure each client feels comfortable with me and with their training sessions, progress and how they feel both inside and out. I’ve learned that I might be the only source of positive energy in someone's day… and if that’s my duty I’m fully prepared and ready to make it happen! Once I’m able to really understand who my client is and really what their problems are, then I can create a individualized guide that will allow them to fully understand and be confident in how I am going to help them. I think the basis for a long-lasting and successful relationship relies in client satisfaction which inevitably turns into client retention and I’ve always made that priority #1. I genuinely care about people, specifically in relation to their health & well-being. To get someone to be able to reach their fitness goals, I listen carefully and repeat my understanding of what he or she has stated. Over time clients have started to see me as someone who really gets them and is truly invested in helping them reach their fitness goals. Having the opportunity to help people begins with their willingness to open up to you in ways that help me as a fitness professional understand them and how I can become a positive, influential source in guiding their beliefs and accomplishing their goals with properly set plans that target and help them to achieve their health and fitness goals.
