Mr. Fix It did an amazing job repairing my HVAC and making great use of his time---while he had some down time, he also fixed my oven door! He was knowledgable and professional and took care of my needs! I will definitely hire him again and would recommend him to others.

What a great experience. I just completed a full kitchen remodel and needed to have my dishwasher and microwave reinstalled. Considering how much work had gone into the kitchen, it made sense to hire a professional instead of trying to do it myself. Tony with Incity was great! He came out to assess the situation and gave me a fair price. Tony was very flexible with scheduling. He needed to wait until the cabinets were hung and the electrical was ready. He came out when he said he would, did the job with great care, and proved to be a really nice guy. I really appreciated how he explained what was to be done so I understood completely. Definitely my "go to guy" for anything appliance related.

Was very honest...told me on the phone before I even had them come out that I would be better off buying a new microwave. I could not find one to fit my specific space built into my cabinets, so had to fix the existing two year old microwave. He was able to fix it for half of what a new one would cost....and that would not fit the space. Would highly recommend them.

Well today is December 24, and I have a new kitchen and I'm supposed to have the stove install for today the 24th and no body I called wanted to come because of the date! So I contacted Mr.Elior Nagar and in 15min he knocked on my door and install my 48inch viking range stove in minutes! Literally he saved my life cause if I didn't have that stove installed on the same day my wife would kill me! Lol I'm very satisfied with his work and reliability! 100% recommend! A++++++

I had needed to have an overhead microwave removed and a new one installed. The job was done perfectly and professionally. In addition, while he was there I learned that he is an electrical engineer by trade. He was able to diagnose a separate problem on the spot, and he gave me his recommendation. I was very pleased with his work.

Hired him to install a dishwasher and an over the range microwave. Ended up also fixing a leak under kitchen sink, fastening a pedestal to a dryer, swapped out door locks and even mounted my direct tv box to my wall. Happy with all services and glad he was there to fix the things my wife wanted done. Will hire again and so should you.

The Appliance Repairman, Mike, has diagnosed and repaired many items in our home including our fridge, dishwasher, and toaster oven. His communication style was pleasant and professional as was his attitude on the phone. The cost of repair was reasonable for the time and materials provided. A big thumbs-up to this local business. The technician was on time and completed his work quickly, but without rushing. I would absolutely recommend him for any appliance repair you need. Will use again.

Kenny was the greatest! I was having an issue with my oven that not even manufacturer themselves could fix without replacing the oven. My oven was a bit older so the parts were no longer made, but Kenny found them and made it work again! Just two quick trips and a three year long problem was solved. The Icon team was timely and courteous. All in all, great service!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
  • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
  • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
