Very professional, explained how he was doing the tuning. Answered all my questions. I really enjoyed the experience, especially the piano concert when he was finished tuning. Will definitely have him back in a year!Nov 18, 2019VerifiedDurante's Music Technical Services's reply

Piano is now tuned expertly, but waiting for the "other" part of my piano (the audio amp/output) which still needs work.Aug 1, 2019Verified
My piano is a 45 yr old Wurlitzer Spinet! It has never sounded so grand as it does now since Tom's diligent tuning! And a Beethoven concert to top it all off! So beautiful, brought tears to my eyes!Jun 7, 2019VerifiedDurante's Music Technical Services's reply
Thanks Esther, enjoy and I’ll see you next time!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? Most technicians learned by doing, or from their uncle or dad. I have undergone rigorous training as a part of two certificate programs through the Chicago School for Piano Technology. I am also part of the Piano Technicians Guild which has a monthly journal on techniques new and old as well as yearly conventions with technical institutes to help hone skills throughout my career.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I took an intro class on piano technology and fell in love with how the piano was made and works, and how to repair it when it doesn’t! Haven’t looked back since!
- What types of customers have you worked with?Tuning pianos, cleaning out the insides of the piano (lots of dust and grime, and bugs), reconditioning of the inner workings (minor rebuilding jobs). Teaching piano, guitar, ukulele, violin, and music theory lessons.
