Introduction: Our work stands out from others because, the owner physically participates in the construction and supervision of every aspect of the pool construction process. What I like mostly about my job is, the ability to excerise creativity in the design and construction of swimming pools.

It felt like we were being held hostage for 25 weeks by this Contractor. A 4 - 6 week contract turned into 15 weeks. The General Contractor did not oversee every aspect of the Pool Construction. Mistakes were made. They installed an equipment pad under a bedroom window. we were told it would be located near the electric panel. We questioned as to this passing an inspection. Contractor agreed to install a manufactured 4x4 concrete hurricane pad to the right of the window as a repair at his cost. He then decided to mix a couple bags of concrete and place some tiles on it instead. It does not look good and it has cracked up. He refuses to make right. Damages were done to our property. They Broke The water main to the house It leaked for several days flooded our yard and left us with no water. He wanted us to wait until after the weekend when he would address it. Not acceptable to us so we had it repaired. We didn't make a big deal of it. gave him the invoice. His subcontractor damaged our a fence gate. He indicated he would repair it. I insisted that he replace the damaged frame with an original one. He wanted to patch over it. I told him this would not be an acceptable repair. The Contractor looked for payments before stipulated work was completed in the contract Draw Schedule. The contractor gave lame excuses, but the fact was he did not oversee the job. He was not aware what his subcontractors had not completed their work. Verbal promises were made by the Contractors Salesman. (his Brother). When the Contractor didn't perform after weeks of requests, we were told his Salesman was new, didn't have a lot of experience and made mistakes. He directed us to our contract. We gave up that issue due to the contract being clear. There were many issues to many to list. Our biggest issue was with a Retaining Wall. Our contract indicated a Retaining Wall "if needed." We were told when reviewing the contract that we would not need a retaining wall. We did not receive a Retaining Wall. The contractor charged us regardless. When we were presented the final payment for punch out list we questioned these and other issues for items we didn't receive and damages that were done to our property we arrived at different figure. We expected an adjustment or negotiation. The Contractors response in writing was "I'll see you in court." He refused to discuss or negotiate. Within a couple weeks we received Notice from one of his Subcontractors that they were going to impose a Lien on the property due to not being paid by the contractor. Those services were paid for in a previous draw designated for those services. We have made arrangements to pay the balance to the General Contractor with the stipulation a release is provided from all subcontractors he used including those who served notice to impose a lien on our property. Our mistake was not requiring releases throughout the process before we made any payments. We trusted a BBB Accreditation and rating when choosing this contractor. We've since found where this contractor operated under a different name in the past, also when Googling this Contractor's name we found other negative issues including Cape Coral News Paper articles. Shame on us for not doing better due diligence. This has been a very bad experience. I hope that this helps someone else if not for this contractor but any contractor they choose to contract with.

We had an excellent experience using Water's Edge Pools. We would highly recommend them to anyone seeking to renovate or build a pool.
