Carlos and his wife are wonderful. Somehow they manage to be very neat while doing a messy job. They cover everything and removed all the popcorn on the ceilings and painted the ceilings and the walls. All for a reasonable price. Great communication along the way and very easy to work with. Best painters I’ve ever had! Really!

I received a visit and follow up quote for Popcornceilingremoval. Melvin and company were friendly, professional and willing to answer all my questions and concerns about the potential project. I received the quote the next day and it was detailed and captured all my specific requests and areas of concern.
Great experience. Melvin was great.

I had the BEST experience working with Nestor! He removed my popcornceilings and installed orange peel texture, removed wall paper in a room, painted the whole house, painted all the kitchen cabinets, painted all the new doors, installed all new light fixtures and ceiling fans, connected me with someone who did the tile flooring, installed all new baseboards and connected me with someone to do a deep clean after all of the renovations! Nestor is professional, friendly, responsive, and really takes pride in his work! He was so patient with me and all of my anxious questions and perfectionistic requests. I HIGHLY recommend him and will absolutely hire him again! 😊

I am rehabbing a home for rent. I hired Sunny Painting to paint one room, remove the popcornceiling and fix an uneven drywall board on the wall. Carlos and his wife were so nice, professional and HONEST, I hired them to do the entire house!
They removed the wallpaper in three rooms and all the popcornceilings in the house. 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, family room, great room with vaulted ceiling. All closets, pantry, kitchen ceiling, baseboard trim, all doors and door frames, fireplace framework with built in bookcase. They sprayed all the A/C vents in the house white instead of me spending money to replace them with new. He also replaced all the hardware on the doors with my new hardware at no charge.
Carlos consulted with me on the colors in the house that look amazing! Convinced me to not tile the kitchen floor because the tile looked good, saving me $1,200 on my renovation budget. While I had multiple projects going in the house Carlos made sure that the jobs other workers did was done properly when I was not able to be at the property. He also told me one of the people I hired didn't seem to be on the up and up. Guess what? He wasn't! I trusted them with a key to come and go. My house looks so amazing thanks to this amazing duo.
I went back to the house to work the day after they finished and as silly as this seems, I missed them being there. You will not regret hiring Sunny Painting for your next job. Professional, quality work and honest people. We already have a quote for the exterior painting for the second phase.

I was originally looking for ceilingpopcornremoval, then during the walk through for a quote, I asked them to add painting to it. Luis, Edwin and team were great. They asked questions, stayed in constant contact and did fast, exceptional work. Then after the final walk through and payment, I had questions on a couple of things and not only did they call, they came back and answered my inquiries with action and still checked in after that!! It's unfortunate that many businesses disappear as soon as they are paid. Not this company. I would use them again and highly recommend.....tell Ari that you want Luis and Edwin when you hire them...because you "will" hire them.

I was initially interested in having the popcornceilingremoved from my condo (946 sq. ft.). I was quoted about $2-$2.50 per square foot by several companies, ~$2000, but Nestor quoted $4850, well above the rest. I then decided I wanted to try installing bead board on the ceiling instead. Some contractors suggested I remove the popcorn before installing the bead board, and some said that they could put the bead board on top. Nestor suggested removing the bead board, but said he could do it on top as well. I also asked if he could add a ceiling fan in my primary bedroom including adding electrical, and to rewire the ceiling fan in the second bedroom which had the plug going down the wall and plugged into an outlet. His final estimate was “$3150 to install the bead board in the main areas (both bedrooms, living and dining room, kitchen and hall), remove the popcorn in the bedroom closets and to prime and paint everything, $250 to run the wire through the wall, $250 to put a new electrical box, and $80 to install a new ceiling fan, for a total of $3730.” He claimed the whole project would take 10 days in total. Since I had a hard move-in date of Oct. 1, he assured me the job would be finished in time. I confirmed the start date of 9/21. To my surprise at 1:19 p.m. on 9/21 Nestor asked me for the gate code, as the one I had given him previously for the estimate expired. He then told me he was not able to get the supplies from Home Depot and wouldn’t be starting the project until the next day! The next day he tried upselling me to a more expensive bead board style, to which I informed him was not in my budget. Later that day Nestor called to tell me that after they tried to install a few bead boards they fell down. He had (without asking) cut a hole in my ceiling to examine the structure. He told me he would not be able to install the bead board due to the beams in my ceiling. Nestor's team had already scraped the ceilings in the closets. He told me he would charge me $600 just to finish the closets, and he would repair the hole in my ceiling, that he cut without permission for free! The other option was to hire him to do the popcorn removal for the entire condo, but I knew he was overpriced for that job, quoting $4 per square foot, which is nearly double the going rate. He said he would do the popcornremoval for the same price as the bead board, which was $3150, much better than the $4850 he originally quoted. I now had 8 days left until I needed to move in and wouldn’t have time to hire another contractor. I was in a very difficult situation so I reluctantly agreed to have him do the popcorn removal, to at least get the project done on time, so I wouldn't incur any more cost by moving in late. To my delight on Sept. 28 Nestor messaged me and told me the project was completed – two days early. I went to the condo the next day only to find my entire ceiling falling onto the ground. There were cracks in every room and plaster EVERYWHERE. Large sheets of plaster falling, but also small pieces everywhere. Additionally, the
bedroom closet was not done, it still had plastic hanging in it and was scraped, but not sprayed or painted. It’s as if they forgot about it! I called Nestor and sent him pictures. He claimed the ceiling "made a reaction after we finish! It’s a primer and paint reaction and we can fix it.” After talking to him on the phone, he explained that he in fact did not do the work, but he subcontracted it out, and his subcontractor, Diego didn’t prime the ceiling between scraping and spraying, causing this issue. He
offered to have Diego re-scape the patches that were falling, priming them, then spraying them. As you may be thinking, as I did, if Nestor is admitting that Diego did not do the job correctly, how is only fixing the patches going to guarantee the rest of the ceiling doesn’t fall down in the near or distant future? After going around and around and around with Nestor about this, he finally agreed to have Diego scrape the entire ceiling and re-do the project the right way. The next day I showed up to check that that was what Diego was actually doing, only to find him only scraping the patches. He did not put up any protective material to protect plaster from getting everywhere. Diego did not speak any English. After having many more long conversations with Nestor, where he admitted that Diego was MAKING HIM LOOK BAD, he again agreed to have Diego redo the project. When I came back later that night, I saw Diego put up SOME protective material, but was still only scraping the seams of the ceiling, which was where the cracks were and not the entire ceiling. He also was only doing the living room and NOT the bedrooms. At this point it was clear that Nestor was not a man of his word, and was not going to have his subcontractor complete the job correctly. He said we never agreed to redo everything, even though we had twice! On Oct. 5 Nestor again messaged and said project was done. I came to check everything and the ceiling was "done," with the patches clearly visible. The place was a mess! There was plaster on EVERYTHING – doors, door handles, my entire kitchen, even both bathroom sinks and cabinets, which were rooms they weren’t even working on! The toilets were covered in urine and the whole place was disgusting. Nothing had been cleaned. Both bedroom carpets were covered in plaster. The minimal cleaning that was done, was done with MY vacuum! My vacuum was full of plaster dust and ruined! Unbelievable. I asked Nestor if they were done cleaning and to my shock he said yes. I knew that I of course was going to get a discount for the delay of the project, but this added another level. Two days later Nestor asked for his final payment. Remember the project was supposed to be $3730. $3100 for the ceilings, $250 for each electrical wiring and $80 for the fan install. I never got around to purchasing the fan, so It should have been $3650 ($3730-$80) minus the $2000 I already paid as the deposit, for a remaining balance of $1650 minus what you would expect to be a significant discount for the horrible experience and significant delay. Yet Nestor asked me for $1850 more - $200 MORE than I owed him. I promptly explained to him his mathematical error and that he needed to provide a discount. I had already spent 6 hours cleaning and would continue to spend more as every inch of my condo was covered in plaster dust. Ultimately I had to rip out my carpets, because I could not get the plaster out, and I’m now walking on bare concrete as it’s not in my budget to purchase new carpet yet. Ultimately I decided to pay Nestor $500 more and remove $1150 for my dissatisfaction with the job (the patches are clearly visible), my time, my ruined vacuum and carpets. Also, the total of $2500 is $2000 for the popcorn removal and $500 for the electrical. With it only being
less than 900 square feet, it was well within the appropriate range of $2+ per square foot. Finally I would like to mention, that when my brother came down for Thanksgiving, he hung my ceiling
fan for me, and put in new electrical outlets and switches throughout my condo. He explained that both rooms that Nestor’s electrician wired for me were done incorrectly and he had to fix them! Nestor then sued me for $3,189.60, which the paperwork simply stated a principal sum for $2859.60 plus court fees of $300.00 and interest of $30.00. When we got to pre-trial he said it was $1850 for "breech of contract," a number he had totally made up, which was not in our contract, $400 for filing a lien on my condo, $400 for court (even though the paperwork I received said $300) and now $100 in interest, again a number he completely made up, for a new total of $4000!!!!! TWO mediators tried to get him to explain where he got these numbers from and he could not explain. He also sneakily had his private mediator (who he tried to portray as a lawyer) in his room during the Zoom pre-trial, which is illegal. The real mediator discovered this and was furious. I debated going to trial and proving the poor workmanship Diego/Nestor provided and subpoena FIN International's payroll records to see if he was even paying Diego legally (doubtful). When the mediator asked for Diego's license number, Nestor nearly lost it. At this point for my mental health, I settled for the $1200 I owed for our "contract" despite the electrical work being done WRONG and the GIANT VISIBLE PATCHES ALL OVER MY CEILING. I cannot put into words how much I regret working with Nestor and how I believe him to believe dishonest, disreputable and a downright predatory business owner. Also if you check his Better Business Bureau, you will see he's had two other lawsuits with clients. Finally, he tried to put in our settlement that I could not leave a review on any website, to which the court and I of course didn't agree. Take my warning and stay far away from this crook!
