I am extremely pleased with Chelsea International. My daughter and I were struggling to find the right tutoring service for ACT prep at the right price. According to my daughter who has had top tier tutoring for most of her high school years, she expressed what an amazing teacher Dr. Michelle was, ...her exact words were...She was the "BEST tutor I ever had. " Naturally I was very happy to hear that. We will definitively contact Chelsea International again. I highly recommend them as they exceeded my expectations.

I have worked with ken for the last two years and I can honestly say he saved my life! I was a Junior in High School that was lazy and unmotivated with a miserable GPA. Ken helped me organize and get my act together. He helped me with study skills, daily time management goals, SAT and ACT prep, all of my high school courses, college applications, financial aide paperwork and so much more. I can now say I am a proud graduate of high school that has been admitted to FIU this summer. I never would have been able to do any of it without Ken's encouragement, patients, dedication and friendship and overwhelming knowledge in so many areas. I look forward to continuing my tutoring with Ken as I go through my college years!! No doubt, I would not be where I am now if it were not for him!!

I have to say that Prep by PAT has done an AMAZING job with my son!! My son was struggling with passing the reading part of the ACT. He's in fact took the ACT a couple of times and was unsuccessful with the reading part oh and forget the science...he bombed it!! It had gotten down to the nitty griddy, the now almost end of the school year, and this ACT is needed to GRADUATE!! There was only one more time to take this ACT and pass It to graduate. This is where Prep by PAT comes in!! They started tutoring my son twice a week for 3 weeks!!! After the first week my son expressed how much he had learned in just that little bit of time in fact he said he was able to use the skills he learned from Prep by PAT the first week on the FCAT! Well my son took his ACT and instead of getting a 19 on the reading which i believe is a passing score, he scored a whopping 33!!!! Yay!! And the science a 23!!! I mention the science because Prep by PAT squeezed in some pointers for passing the science part and my son was able to apply that and do great!!! I thank you Prep by PAT for your patience, and your love for what you do because if you didn't love it there is noooo way we would have seen these amazing results!!! We appreciate you!!!! Love you for life!!!!!

David became my daughter's tutor for the SAT for approximately 8 months after having had a tutor my daughter was very unhappy with. A friend recommended him. He was always timely, professional and had a set strategy for her to improve her scores since we were short on time. Her scores indeed improved and she was accepted to almost all of the colleges she applied to. He was also very realistic and guided her towards universities he felt she would get in and be happy at. I would highly recommend him as a college prep tutor.

Charlene tutored me in SAT Prep. We did the tutoring at the library. It took 2 hours everyday that I went. She really knew what she was teaching, and made everything easier to understand. She is always on time and always delivers what she promises. The only thing I would change is working with her more hours every week, but other than that she is the best tutor I ever had.

Nataliya was a wonderful tutor for my son. I was extremely fortunate to find her. We had a good discussion about my sons learning needs and style. I am very grateful that Nataliya was very receptive and accommodating to help my son learn his math concepts in time for his final exam. I definitely recommend Nataliya to anyone looking for at tutor who is both knowledgeable and professional! Thanks again Nataliya for your hard work.

Why Prep by PAT? Short Answer: We are test preparation experts! While what happens in the classroom is important, each student's performance on her or his end-of-year exam is most vital at any level of academic success. Long Answer: By focusing on both, what happens in the classroom and what is expected on end-of-year exams or college entrance exams (i.e., ACT, PERT, SAT, etc.), our commitment stems well outside of what happens in a traditional classroom setting. Our mission is simple: To provide an educational experience that is far-reaching beyond that of the classroom. Prep by PAT uses its own instructional methods to bridge the gap between classroom instruction and test preparation. Our Threshold for SuccessTM offers a "quick assess" or diagnosis of those opportunities that may yet to be realized from previous scores or performance reports, or from a short assessment of 5 or 10 questions per subject area. Our 50-50 Elimination StrategyTM enables our students to quickly eliminate two or more multiple choice options, which narrows the remaining choices down to one or two "most likely" options from the four or five available choices. Lastly, our Know The Game Being Played StrategyTM provides students with key insights of testing or those tools that inform them of what is expected of them while completing any standardized test. Prep by Performance at the Top (PAT) Enterprises, LLC offers in-home, one-to-one instruction in reading, English, math, social sciences and writing, small and large group instruction in ACT and SAT test preparation, and much more. Prep by PAT is one of the best math tutoring companies in South Florida, currently ranked #3 of the Top Ten Best Math Tutors in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. Our NEW Prep by PAT Reward Shop (powered by TokenRewards.com) provides rewards or prizes to "incentivize" its enrolled students by assigning points for their completion of those ongoing recommended, reinforcement activities that are related to those skills or concepts being taught in school, which are being reinforced or retaught by Prep by PAT tutors. These activities are intended to be completed during each student's leisure time outside of tutoring. Although no deadlines are usually set for completion, this rewards program is designed to motivate students to earn points to later be exchanged for desired rewards or prizes. There are no additional costs incurred by those families that are currently enrolled in Prep by PAT services. Prep by PAT specializes in test preparation for students from Pre-K through collegiate graduate-level, which includes but is not limited to test-taking strategies in the following: ACT, CLAST, FCAT, Florida Standards Assessment, General Knowledge, Praxis, SAT, and others.

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do I prepare for the GMAT?

If you’re thinking of enrolling in graduate school to earn your MBA, it’s time to start thinking about preparing for the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). Working with a GMAT tutor is for many people a wise investment to help you strengthen the academic areas you may be weak in and improving your overall test score. A GMAT prep tutor should teach you not only the kind of information you need to know for the test, but the best test-taking strategies. The GMAT tests you on four categories: quantitative, verbal, integrated reasoning, and an analytical writing assessment. Cramming is probably not going to give you good results for this standardized test; give yourself between two and six months to prepare, focusing on your most challenging areas first. Successful GMAT prep means planning ahead and studying thoroughly. Those students who reported studying under 75 hours were more likely to score 400 or lower on the test, while students who studied 121 hours or more were more likely to score 700 or higher on the test. Hiring a GMAT prep tutor can range in price from under $50 to over $200 per hour.

How long does it take to prepare for the GMAT?

Pros recommend planning to spend two to six months for GMAT prep. The test itself is only 3.5 hours long, but your score will have a major effect on what schools grant you admission. If you’d like to be considered for one of the top-tier schools, it’s recommended to score at least a 700. Your goals for your MBA can help drive your GMAT prep. GMAT tutors will guide your study plan and help analyze your strengths and weaknesses. GMAT tutors also offer professional guidance and insights on strategic GMAT test-taking. Avail yourself of free GMAT prep software that provides sample test questions for you to practice. The creators of the GMAT recommend creating a structured study plan detailing when you will study each day and what topics you will study during each session. Take into account what style of learning works best for you (solo study, one-on-one tutoring, group tutoring, study groups, prep courses) and proceed accordingly. The test is made up of these four categories, each with an allotted time:

        • Analytical writing assessment: 1 topic, 30 minutes.
        • Integrated reasoning: 12 questions, 30 minutes.
        • Quantitative: 37 questions, 75 minutes.
        • Verbal: 41 questions: 75 minutes.
