FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It is not a complicated system, it just varies from event to event depending on the number of guests and or the time frame. I'm charging $125 for face painting and/or balloon sculptures for about 1.5 hrs. That would be for less than 20 kids, as it takes about 5 minutes per face. A 4 hr. festival event runs $325.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After a leave of absence from teaching, I just couldn't pull myself to return to the classroom so I got a job in sales for a magician, booking, planning and executing events. He wanted to hire cheap clowns so he sponsored a clown college, I went along to help out and got hooked. Out of 12 paid students I was the only one to take it to a professional level. I've been at it since 19995 in Volusia County.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
As Sissy the Clown, I've done hundreds of birthday parties every year. I also enjoy festivals (because I appreciate the tips and variety of people)
