FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically we will qualify customers via a text or phone call to insure we fit their budget. From here we schedule an in person walk through where we sit down and discuss the project on site and in person. After this is completed we will draft up a quote. If agreeable to the customer we sign a contract, accept a deposit, and begin work.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father was a carpenter in Key West where we worked on older “conch” houses my entire childhood into my college years. In college I got a job with BC Building and Remodeling which is a high-end residential contractor out of Lighthouse Point, FL. I worked with Matt from BC building for years renovation NFL players, celebrities, and other ultra high end homes until I finished the Florida licensing process to obtain my State Certified Residential contractors license.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
For a residential contractor I would first advise a client to ask for licensing and insurance. A large number of “contractors” in South Florida claim to be licensed when they are not. Do your research and google the contractors license number. Make sure this info matches the individual or company you are considering. All of this info is public record. Next ask for pictures of past work. If said individual cannot produce photos off their phone of actual projects they have completed big red flag. Lastly ask for references; its easy to be nice when you are quoting a job but a good contractors stands behind the work long after the check clears. Past customers will give you the honest truth on a contractor.
