FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As a personal chef I charge a minimum of $200 per day plus cost of groceries. This seems high to some people who confuse a personal chef with a cook. A personal chef is one who has studied and developed their own recipes and techniques. A cook is someone who is a student or someone who is good at following recipes. It costs money to hire a professional private chef. However, if you are looking for someone who can just follow recipes you would probably be able to pay a minimum hourly charge. There is a difference and because of my extensive experience my charge reflects it.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I continually read cookbooks, attend lectures by dieticians, nutritionists and Health Institutes. I am always developing new recipes.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a very creative person with a flair for food preparation since I was 13. I taught exercise classes for 32 years and always wanted my cuisine to reflect a healthy nature.
