Nicole Alcaro is a Florida based artist. With an interest in fashion and design and an eye for detail, she loves to create using found elements and upcyling from existing materials. She started sewing at the age of 16 and learned out to do glassblowing at the age of 20. Her pieces have a whimsical feel and she finds inspiration in nature as well as mythology. She loves to work with fabrics, painting and sculpting as well as glass from various sources such as rum bottles. Using these materials helps her to create unique pieces that range from clothing and accessories to various items for the home. Back in 2001, one of her items caught the attention of websites like Boing Boing. This was her batwing fanblades. Many of her other items can now be found on sites like Etsy and Instagram.
