FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
In general I do pricing based on the request made. I have found that most customers prefer a fixed fee over an hourly rate and often that scenario costs me as I feel bound by my original bid. Fortunately, Ive had a good number of my customers realize this and pay me more without my asking because they are satisfied with the job done and often they realize there was more to it than they originally thought, or unanticipated complications arose that they could tell were not of my doing, but needed to be addressed in order for the job to be done correctly and to customer satisfaction.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After winning the bid, I usually meet the customer over the Thumbtack.com medium and ask them to text me their address so that I can also have their contact phone number at the same time. By this time we have usually already agreed on a time for the job to be done. Once I arrive at the customers location I usually get to work right way after bringing any necessary tools in and proceed to complete the job to the best of my ability and customer satisfaction.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With each job, I come up with a variety of challenges, thus my continuing education seems to proceed with each job that I do. My bachelors in Political Science does not see much application in this area, my network and computer certification does see some application with the jobs I bid on, while my having rebuilt my parents home in the early 1980s as well as going every 2nd or 3rd year to ready it for the winter via repairs seems to have contributed a great deal to my abilities related to the work I do.
