There may be a small travel fee assessed to the invoice with local moves and a larger one assessed to long distance moves. Competitors like to tack onto your bill with their hidden fees and fine print. We pride ourselves on honesty, accountability, responsibility and integrity.
We do not charge extra for disconnecting and reconnecting your appliances such as washers, dryers and refrigerators. We do not charge extra for moving expensive items such as grandfather clocks and antiques. We do, however, charge an extra fee to move and transport pianos. We also ask that you mention those during the quote. Our mission as a moving company is to focus on the needs of our customers rather than trying to maximize our profits. We hired A1A Moving & Transport for our recent house move across town. Blake was prompt in his responses for planning. Even with an unavoidable delay (caused by closing, not the movers), he and Ray were focused on the task at hand and pleasant to be around. The rates are very reasonable.
Since our move, we have hired A1A Moving to pickup, deliver and assemble a dining room table. Their rate was much more reasonable than the store's recommended third-party mover. And Blake was able to do the work the day after we requested it. The crew were careful to ensure the assembly was correct, that the table was clean and without damage, and they hauled out the garbage.
We plan to use A1A again for future deliveries, assemblies and moves.

I feel a little bad that I requested for an 11am start time but that was what was realistic for my husband and I given our situation. The movers worked through lunch hour like they were happy to serve. The name that stuck was Sugar Ray. Him and the two others were very courteous, friendly and professional. Our items were packed and delivered with no damage. I was most worried about the heavy wrought iron wine cabinet and they took it down from our 3rd floor condo unit through the stairs and into our new house. It took 4people to move that thing the last time I moved. I had a bed and big items that needed to be disposed of, they helped with that too. Their truck has more than enough room to move a fully furnished 4-bedroom house. They stacked the items to supposedly minimize the settling and eliminate damage but the efficient manner that they did it made me think I don't own enough. On the overall, the backaches of moving still felt like I was moving but it was not bad at all.

I was moving some large furniture pieces into a storage unit and these guys were great! Incredibly quick, super friendly, and very professional. I would recommend them to anyone! And if ever need help moving again, they'll be the first ones I call.

We came from a 2nd floor condo to a house 1 mile away. They moved our heaviest pieces which included a motorized bed. They arrived on time, polite, very professional and got the job done. We would use them again and highly recommend them.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It all depends on the customer's belongings and the amount of time estimated. So, no, I don't have a standard pricing system because it wouldn't be fair to either party.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to ask questions that will give us an idea of what personal belongings our new customer wants protected, packed, loaded and transported. We always try to get as many details as possible in order to give the customer a fair quote to move their belongings. Sometimes, if we and the customer deem it necessary for an on-site estimate, we do that free of charge. We feel it is very necessary to inspect every job if there are some questionable objects that may be timely to move. Overall, our most important goal when working with a new customer is meeting their needs and exceeding all expectations along with a great moving experience on both ends.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors degree in business administration/management and I have over 20 years of experience on my staff.
