- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Florida sets the notarial fee by law: $10.00 per notarial act (Fla. Stat. 117.05(2)). That is the legal maximum and I cannot charge more for the act itself. What varies is the travel and service fee, which depends on where you are, when you need me, and what the appointment involves. A standard mobile visit in the Jacksonville area is a flat quoted fee. Hospital, hospice, senior living, correctional facility, after-hours and weekend appointments are quoted separately because they take longer and require coordination. Additional services are quoted as separate line items so you can see exactly what you are paying for: same-day document courier, printing, witness coordination, and I-9 employment eligibility verification. Nothing is bundled or padded. You get the complete quote in writing before I travel. No surprise charges, and no trip fee if I have to cancel for a reason that is on me. Payment: cash, check, debit, credit, ACH bank transfer, Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Debit is no additional charge. Credit cards carry a 3% processing fee applied only to the travel and service lines, never to the statutory notarial fee. If cost is a concern, tell me. I would rather talk through what you actually need than have you skip getting a document signed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. You reach out by call, text, or my website. Tell me what needs notarizing, where you are, and when you need it. 2. I confirm the details: what the document is, how many signers, how many notarial acts, and that every signer has valid unexpired government photo ID. If witnesses are required, we sort that out now rather than at the appointment. 3. I quote the full fee in writing before I travel. You approve it before I go anywhere. 4. We lock in a time and I come to you. Home, hospital room, senior living facility, office, attorney's office, coffee shop, or curbside in a parking lot. Evenings and weekends are available. 5. At the appointment I verify each signer's ID, confirm they understand what they are signing and are signing willingly, witness the signature, then complete the notarial certificate and apply my seal. 6. If you need it to go somewhere, I can scan and email you a copy on the spot and courier the original the same day to the courthouse, title company, attorney, or recipient. Three things I will always tell you up front, because they are what derails appointments: Do not sign the document before I arrive. Florida requires me to witness the signature. Bring valid, unexpired government photo ID for every person signing. If your document needs witnesses, that is a separate role from the notary. Tell me in advance and I will help arrange it.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a commissioned notary public for the State of Florida, Commission #HH 824981, active through July 2030. I completed Florida's required notary education course and passed the state background screening. I carry the notary bond Florida requires and a separate errors and omissions policy, so my work is both bonded and insured. My Thumbtack background check is also cleared. Before this I spent about a decade in healthcare administration, and honestly that is the training that matters most for the work I do now. It is why I am comfortable in hospitals, hospice, and senior living facilities, why I know how to work around a care team instead of interrupting one, and why I am careful about capacity, willingness, and dignity when a signer is elderly, medicated, or seriously ill. Those are judgment calls a notary is legally required to make, and they are much harder than they sound. I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I want to be straightforward about what I am not. I am not an attorney. I am not an NNA-certified Notary Signing Agent, and I do not take mortgage loan signing packages. I am commissioned in Florida only.
