FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been a sewing instructor for several years. I also taught basic 101, intermediate, advanced, light upholstery, tack, and window treatments at JoAnns Fabric Superstore. Over the years of teaching, I have been able to perfect my skill. In 2009, I was laid off from my job at Mercantile Bank, so I decided that it was a good time to reinvent myself and launch a small upholstery business. I love what I do, and each finished piece to me is like art work for furniture. Making my clients happy is very rewarding. I'm so blessed that I had this to fall back on.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I do marine upholstery, including jet skis, sea doos and boats. I also do detailing services, from wash to ultra detail interior and exterior. My work is custom, and I do everything by myself. I am an artisan because I take great pride in my work, and each piece is carefully made as if it were my own.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask to see pictures of previous work or references from previous clients. Ask for an estimate in writing.
