I am a retired art teacher from the South Jersey/Philadelphia area. My husband and I started We Fish Studio in South Jersey, but put it on hold when we moved to Central Florida. We are former members of Philadelphia Museum of Art.
I am looking forward to working part-time for a Christian school of the arts near Dr. Phillips This autumn. Previously, I have taught art in public and private schools, art centers, instructed various art lessons and tutored young children to senior citizens, as well as focusing on my own acrylics, pastel pieces and watercolors. I have experience, both home and outside, teaching and using oils, acrylics, sculpture, pottery, textiles and crafts, to name a few. I have also facilitated trips to art museums and displayed my students' work in large community shows. I'm hoping to work with groups or individuals in the area to expand peoples' hidden art abilities, which help develop other areas of our brains.
Teaching many kinds of art makes my job interesting and unique. One of the favorite lessons I've taught is beginning portraiture. Portraits can be created in so many ways. It's nice to let students, young or mature, learn at their own pace without pressure.
