I have been taking jazz piano lessons with Max for a couple years now and I have seen great progress! I’m much more comfortable with jazz theory, chords, and trusting my musical ear and ability now. Not only have I learned a lot, I continue to learn from lessons with Max! I have even been able to get help during my lessons with writing some of my own songs. Now I have a more advanced ability to play by ear, understand music theory, improvise, and memorize songs. Max is great at explaining concepts in a way that makes them simple and understandable. Max is always friendly, punctual, and professional.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I will have a phone conversation with a potential new student. This is a great way to break the ice and see how we get along with each other on a personal level. Second, we schedule a lesson so the student can get a feel for my teaching style and I can get a feel for how the student will learn best. After that, we keep it going and the sky is the limit! 😃🎹

Attended Dillard School of the Arts, New World School of the Arts, and The New School in NYC 😃🎹
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was approached by a fellow musician at a show we were playing about teaching at his school. I found that I really loved teaching after that experience. 😃🎹
