As a freshman in high school playing at a very high level in an extremely competitive New Jersey basketball conference, I quickly understood that, beyond my height (6’9”) and other physical traits (wingspan, vertical leap, 40 yard dash etc.), the way that I handled my body beyond the court was just as important as when I was on the hardwood. It meant that I needed to commit to a better, more balanced diet, while adding pilates, yoga, extensive stretching routines, and, of course, consistent resting regiment and recovery periods to allow my body to refuel and be ready to perform at its best. The result was a wonderful year where I was positioned the number two player in the state of New Jersey.
Thereafter, arriving at the University of Oregon on a full ride scholarship as a basketball and football athlete, I was surrounded by the best in all areas, way beyond basketball or football, all experts in their designated fields. Now all I did was follow their guidance. After college, I did not think things could get any better. I was so, so wrong.
Entering the professional world of basketball in China my first job overseas gave me knowledge from not only the doctors, trainers, nutritionists, coaches, but also from veterans. Some of them well into their 40s and still playing at a very high level. Throughout the years I have accumulated an impressive range of all sorts of many different breathing, balance, strength, flexibility, and endurance exercises.
Now at 32, I've never been happier, more energized, more excited about life. I believe it’s all a result of the way that I've taken care of my mind and body throughout the years. I was blessed to be surrounded and taught by the best in the business, from high school, camps, conferences, college, all the way to the pros. With this accumulated knowledge and experience, I decided it only made sense for me to share this wealth with others and I became certified in fitness and nutrition.
I am hoping to be chosen not only because of my experience, the many lives I've motivated, affected and changed, or because of my energetic, passionate and humble personality, but because I have so much to offer. I would be pleased and grateful for you to allow me to impact your life simply by sharing my passion for healthy eating, safe and effective physical activity.
