My daughter has a few years of classical piano under her belt but really wanted to branch into jazz. We found Max on Thumbtack and were immediately drawn to his strong reviews, teaching background, and the live performances he shares on Instagram.
It’s only been a couple of months, and she already looks forward to every lesson. Max is incredibly patient and encouraging, he meets her where she is, explains jazz concepts clearly without overwhelming her, and keeps the lessons fun and motivating.
We’re so glad we found him. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a supportive, skilled jazz piano teacher!

Max has made starting lessons late in late less daunting. He’s kind, fun and informative. He has been very flexible as my current schedule is not normalized, but I look forward to having both a regular lesson time and continuing to make progress.

FAQs
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I will have a phone conversation with a potential new student. This is a great way to break the ice and see how we get along with each other on a personal level. Second, we schedule a lesson so the student can get a feel for my teaching style and I can get a feel for how the student will learn best. After that, we keep it going and the sky is the limit! 😃🎹
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Attended Dillard School of the Arts, New World School of the Arts, and The New School in NYC 😃🎹
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was approached by a fellow musician at a show we were playing about teaching at his school. I found that I really loved teaching after that experience. 😃🎹
