We had a serious bed bug problem and thanks to Justo, now we don't. I waited 4 weeks to do this review because that's the timing it takes to make sure the infestation is really taken care of. These guys really know that they are doing and are passionate about they work they do.

My mothers house had bed bugs, and to be honest, my first introduction to Ambush was because the "Big name" people were 60% more expensive. On the day he was supposed to come, Ft. Lauderdale was hit with a whopping rain storm. We painlessly rescheduled and all the work was done. His attitude and demeanor is what sets him apart.

They provided great service and it was very effective. I had a bad bed bug problem to the point where I was desperate. After the first treatment my problem was gone, they came back a second time to make sure and said they would come back up to year if I have any problems. It has been a month and still bug free!!!!! I definitely recommend them!

Just purchased a new property and found out it had bed bugs. Looked around and all the places in WPB wanted me to vacate the property. I didn't want to leave my house so that was not an option. I had a friend tell me about PestElite and how they handle bedbug issues. When Jarvis came to my house he outlined the treatment for me. After the service was done he came back for follow ups. And best of all we never had to leave our home. I would recommend this company. And will use them again for my pest control needs

I have to say that my experience with this company, 24 seven pest control, has been great! They were the only company to respond to my thumbtack request for service and I'm glad they were because I am confident now that they were the right choice. The young lady that took care of scheduling (I believe her name is Tara) explained all the preparation I need to make, the different types of treatments available on the market and effectiveness, as well as what was recommended for my particular problem, and their prices are VERY competitive. They are also quite flexible and will work with you as best they can. Alex is the technician that performed the treatment in my home and he was EXCELLENT! I can't praise him enough! He was VERY thorough, very professional and SUPER helpful. He explained everything thoroughly and was just a joy to have in my home. The service I received was to address a bed bug infestation and believe me when I say was completely freaked out when I saw them, but I feel MUCH better having Alex take care of it. Peace of mind is worth more than silver and gold and I am way more comfortable now and trust that I won't see anymore of those critters in the future when I am done with the final follow up. I highly recommend this company and I have already told every home owner I know that if they EVER have a pest problem to call 24 seven pest control and only them. I was just that impressed!

We had bed bugs in our apartment and I was completely devastated and grossed out. When I called Unique Pest Services, they made me feel like everything was going to be okay. The very next day a punctual, polite and very professional man named Kurt showed up. I couldn't have been more pleased with the service I received. I normally do not do reviews but I could not pass this opportunity up to express my satisfaction.

A rare professional in Miami. Avelino arrived on time as scheduled, which was very important to me as my day runs on a very tight schedule & it was the perfect way for him to make a great first impression. He informed me of the entire process, explained what he would be doing, later showed me the problem areas where he found the bed bug nest, and ultimately provided two forms of treatment. He was thorough & inspected every area of my studio. I'm more than happy with the service he provided & would recommend him to anyone experiencing an extermination issue. I will certainly rely on him in the future should the need arise.

Kevin responded quickly. He was knowledgeable and broke down a course of action to solve my bed bug issue. He sent a tech to my house who inspected for free. He showed me the bed bugs to me. There were eggs, blood stains, and bed bugs. I am now bed bug free! Thank you Kevin and the team at pestmaster... Highly recommend! Nice guys, nice price, great service!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you get bed bugs and how do you get rid of them?

The increase in bed bug infestations in the U.S. is a result of increased travel, lack of knowledge about preventing infestations, increased resistance of bed bugs to pesticides, and ineffective pest control practices, explains the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It’s easy to mistake bed bugs for carpet beetles or similar-looking bugs, so infestations are often not noticed when they first occur. Prevention tips include keeping areas free of clutter, regularly washing sheets and mattress covers in hot water (and don’t forget to wash the laundry bag, too), and vacuuming regularly and safely disposing of the sealed vacuum bag. Not everyone has reactions to bed bug bites, which also may be mistaken for the bites of other pests such as mosquitoes, so timely bed bug extermination depends on identification of bed bug activity. If you notice physical signs of an infestation, contact a bed bug extermination professional as soon as possible to learn about chemical and non-chemical (such as heat) treatment options. An integrated pest management plan may incorporate one or more methods.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

  • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
    • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
  • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost to kill bed bugs?

The cost of bed bug extermination depends primarily on how widespread the pest infestation is and how many rooms need to be treated. Other factors that can affect bed bug extermination costs are the amount of clutter in the location, additional furniture that needs to be treated, and construction of the home. Pest management professionals often have rates for room treatments, which can vary based on these factors. As an example, a pest management company treating a 10-by-15-foot room with light infestation might charge clients about $250, while the same size room with a heavy infestation and large amounts of clutter might cost the clients $300-$400. Clutter and heavier bed bug populations mean more product and longer labor time for the workers. Rates will vary from company to company, and from region to region, but the national average bed bug extermination cost is $320-$400. Bed bug heat treatments are an alternative way to exterminate these pests. Heat treatments are typically charged per square foot and tend to cost more than chemical or non-chemical spray solutions. Although effective, they are not usually recommended for occupied spaces, as the extreme temperatures can damage televisions, window dressings and other home furnishings.

How much does it cost for a pest control service?

Whether you need to get rid of bugs or rodents, pest removal professionals can be lifesaving when you have an infestation. Pest control prices will vary based on what type of pest is being removed. The national pest control price range is $80-$130, although prices can be much higher for tasks like wildlife removal (raccoons, bobcats, etc.), which might start at $250 and exceed $500, depending on the animal and the trapping measures required.

The cost of eliminating a termite colony ranges on average from $240 to $400, but these costs can increase greatly if the whole house is infested. The average cost to kill cockroaches is between $80 and $130, while bedbug extermination ranges from $320 to $400 on average. The main factors that will affect your pest control price are the type of pest, the extent of the infestation, the accessibility of the infested areas, and the type of treatment required.
