FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We do not accept insurance but you can submit to your health insurance for reimbursement after the session, using a special receipt my office is happy to provide to you at the time of service. I am an out of network provider to insurances, so if they do reimburse it will likely be at the out of network benefit (if you have). You can also save $ by paying with a flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) at the time of payment I am able to make services more affordable for you by providing bundled sessions, as well as membership services depending on your needs. Keep in mind nutrition is never usually a 1 session service, so you may want to consider a bundle or package. We can discuss what works best for you at your first appointment. No pressure to know what fits your needs best before we begin our work together
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Your first appointment will look like this: the session is focused on you. After you complete my comprehensive new patient form, we review what is your current nutrition state and what goes you wish to achieve in our work together. I review with you many aspects of your health and nutrition history, even including labs, medications, supplements, or other diagnostic pieces if you choose to share. Since all my patients have different needs, we will devise a nutritional plan individual to you, with the focus on food. I also intertwine needed labs, supplements, and other functional foods and therapies if I see it will be in your benefit, and fit your budget. No patient is ever the same. I help guide you when we can follow up, and discuss continued approach to your nutritional care.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly reading up on current research related to diet, nutrition, and supplementation either on my own due to my interest in this area, or because my clients help me to stay current. I frequent conferences, whether they are local or beyond the state of Florida. Most recently, I attended Food As Medicine conference by the Institute of Mind-Body Medicine. I love learning about integrative nutrition, nutrigenomics, functional medicine, and fitness.
