Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: My approach is always personal and made to fit your lifestyle and beliefs. Every person is different, and therefore not all nutritional plans can be the same. I believe in a "Food as Medicine" philosophy to treat Inflammatory conditions in & outside the digestive tract, which influence your immune system, hormones, metabolism, vitality, and other systems. My approach for nutrition comes from integrative and functional training perspective, employing tools of targeted nutrition therapies, exercise, improved sleep, mindfulness, & self-love. I really love it when clients tell me they feel better, see the results, or see the changes come to fruition. I love to hear "I have more energy" or "everything is just working better in my body now." It is so rewarding to be able to lead my clients a better understanding of their own bodies, and become advocates for their own health and the health of their families.

I really liked Marissa the moment I met her. She is not only very knowledgeable and experienced but she is also kind and caring, ready to suggest and goes above and beyond. After my 2nd session with her I feel like she is giving me the tools to change my health for the better. I learned so much on our supermarket tour - having someone helping me map through all this food. I can highly recommend her and looking forward to many more sessions to come - thank you so very much for now !!

She makes following a diet easy! So far all I've had to do is shop and prepare my meals. During our initial consult, she really listens to her clients lifestyle as far as likes, dislikes and current habits to prepare an individualized meal plan for any goal. My goal was to have high protein meal & diet plan on a vegetarian/pescaterian lifestyle and delivered results quickly. it's extremely hard for me to think of new ideas to keep a cruelty free high protein diet for my fitness goals but with Marissa's diet and meal plan it's been a lot easier to just make things from the weekly menu she created. All macronutrient information and recipes are included. Everything she has suggested is easy to find in the grocery store and the recipes are great so far. As I mentioned before, she listens to her clients lifestyle so I was very pleased to find my favorite type of cuisine in the menu accompanied with a guideline/example of what I am ordering. I'm very happy with the service and attention she has provided so far :)

While she is exceptionally nice, and you feel like full attention is on you, it is very expensive and very unrealistic to work with the plan proposed.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We do not accept insurance but you can submit to your health insurance for reimbursement after the session, using a special receipt my office is happy to provide to you at the time of service. I am an out of network provider to insurances, so if they do reimburse it will likely be at the out of network benefit (if you have). You can also save $ by paying with a flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) at the time of payment I am able to make services more affordable for you by providing bundled sessions, as well as membership services depending on your needs. Keep in mind nutrition is never usually a 1 session service, so you may want to consider a bundle or package. We can discuss what works best for you at your first appointment. No pressure to know what fits your needs best before we begin our work together

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Your first appointment will look like this: the session is focused on you. After you complete my comprehensive new patient form, we review what is your current nutrition state and what goes you wish to achieve in our work together. I review with you many aspects of your health and nutrition history, even including labs, medications, supplements, or other diagnostic pieces if you choose to share. Since all my patients have different needs, we will devise a nutritional plan individual to you, with the focus on food. I also intertwine needed labs, supplements, and other functional foods and therapies if I see it will be in your benefit, and fit your budget. No patient is ever the same. I help guide you when we can follow up, and discuss continued approach to your nutritional care.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am constantly reading up on current research related to diet, nutrition, and supplementation either on my own due to my interest in this area, or because my clients help me to stay current. I frequent conferences, whether they are local or beyond the state of Florida. Most recently, I attended Food As Medicine conference by the Institute of Mind-Body Medicine. I love learning about integrative nutrition, nutrigenomics, functional medicine, and fitness.
