FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically $100 for counseling/psychotherapy per hour. Psychological Testing is $200 per hour. Extenuating circumstances may sometimes apply, especially for those that can demonstrate financial need.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, at least 40 hours every 2 years, since that is required for licensure; but I typically do about twice that . Also I read many books and professional magazines and co to numerous conferences annually.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I knew at the age of 16 that I wanted to be Clinical Psychologist. My older brother was taking the first class ever offer in my high school on Psychology, and he would often share the things that he had learned. I enjoyed listening to him, because I thought: "That's the same things that I do!... I wonder If I should be a Psychologist. So I stayed up late several nights studying his Psychology Textbook, and I just knew, this profession was for me. I was also quite adept at "figuring out" what people were feeling - from as far Back as I can remember, and that continued through my developmental years. So, here I am! A Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology! It doesn't get any better that that!
