FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
While I do have a standard price for clients, I do work on a sliding scale. This means that I can work with you to find a fee that we are both comfortable with. Please call me so that we may discuss your financial needs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For people who are new to counseling or are not quite sure what it is all about, just thinking about going to see a therapist can be scary. This may also be the case for seasoned clients seeking a new therapist as well. Generally, people think that going to counseling entails lying down on a couch (which some people like) and getting advice from someone. This is not the case. In therapy, we will work collaboratively to help you overcome any obstacles you may be facing and to start feeling better about your life. Topics of discussion may include anything from your experiences growing up as a child to an entire session focusing solely on an event that happened earlier in the week--it's really up to you!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my Master's Degree in Education with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. In addition to earning my Master's Degree, I also attended additional classes to become a Board Certified Sex Therapist. A sex therapist is someone who has been trained in different topics that relate to various sexual concerns a person may be experiencing. These concerns may range anywhere from a physical concern to a person's sexual habits and desires. I also have extra training to work with transgender clients and am kink and poly friendly.
