Taylor Boxing Coach
If I could give Lou Taylor more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. I’ve been blessed to have many coaches and mentors in my life, but Lou is on another level — not just as a boxing coach, but as a person. From the very first session, it was clear that he isn’t just here to “teach you how to punch,” he’s here to build you up in every sense: skill, discipline, mindset, and confidence.
Lou is one of the most punctual and dependable people I’ve ever met. He values your time and his own, which shows a level of professionalism that’s rare these days. Every time we meet, he’s ready — wraps in hand, gloves out, and a game plan for exactly what we’re going to work on that day. There’s no wasted minutes, no “winging it.” Every drill, every combination, every movement is intentional and designed to help you improve.
What really sets Lou apart is his patience. He understands that everyone learns at their own pace, and he never rushes you or makes you feel bad if you don’t get something right away. He breaks things down step-by-step, explains the “why” behind each movement, and keeps working with you until it clicks. I’ve seen him train people of all levels — from total beginners who have never thrown a punch in their life, to more experienced fighters — and he gives each person the same attention, respect, and energy.
And let’s talk about the man himself — Lou is one of the most humble, down-to-earth guys you’ll ever meet. No ego, no attitude, just pure love for the sport and a genuine desire to help others. He listens. He motivates. He cares. You can tell boxing isn’t just a job for him, it’s his passion and his craft. That energy is contagious — you walk out of every session feeling better, stronger, and more confident than when you walked in.
Training with Lou has not only improved my technique, speed, and conditioning, but it’s also improved my mindset outside the gym. He teaches discipline, mental toughness, and focus in a way that applies to life, not just boxing. I’ve learned how to push past my limits, how to stay calm under pressure, and how to keep showing up even when it’s hard — lessons I’ll carry with me forever.
If you’re looking for a coach who will show up for you every single time, push you to be your best, and treat you with respect while keeping you motivated and accountable, Lou Taylor is the one. Whether your goal is to get in shape, learn self - defense , compete, or simply challenge yourself, you won’t find a better mentor or a better human being in your corner.
Lou, if you’re reading this — thank you for your time, your patience, your energy, and your dedication. You’ve made a huge impact on me, and I know I’m not the only one who feels that way. You’re a true professional and an even better person.
