- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once a client has selected Veteran K9 Care, we schedule an evaluation meeting. During the evaluation, we are given an opportunity to listen to our client express concern and needs. Plus, we observe the puppy or dog behavior individually, and the dynamics with the owner. The information we gather during the evaluation meeting help us develop a training plan that we can execute with positive reinforcement. If the client is going to take Private Lessons, we determine the best location (Lake Nona or Geneva) and time. Some clients want us to tell them how many classes it will take to resolve their issue(s). We will provide an estimate if feasible, however, in complex cases it isn’t alway possible. Veteran K9 Care believes in quality training. Plus, we want our clients to know when they finally take their dog home after the last session all will be well. If the client allows, we would rather take a little longer on a complex case to ensure the owner and dog are in sync and happy with each other. During the training period, our clients have full access to our trainers by phone 24/7. If the client has an emergency they cannot resolve before their next class, we would rather coordinate a call than deal will an accident.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Kimberly Jones has a B.S. in Psychology specializing in Women’s Health. She has Graduate Studies in Rehabilitation Studies. Her education helps work better with customers; as well as, read some of our dogs difficult behavior. Dogs are a lot like children or adolescents. Looking at problems from that viewpoint can be helpful.
