Introduction: What does a realtor do that I can't do myself? That is the million-dollar question! There is so much complaining about our commission, and I believe it is because the public does not utilize realtors to their fullest extent! From house-hunting to contracts, negotiations, keeping contracts on track, and providing information - there's a host of things we do! For example, I meet with my buyers to discuss their needs, wants, and dreams! I develop a relationship, so I can help them make good decisions. It breaks my heart to hear stories of remorseful individuals who buy homes "in the country" that are money pits, they hate the commute, and they are broke from paying for repairs. These are the discussions I have with my clients BEFORE they buy that "handyman special!" I tell them to make the drive during rush hour and think about doing it all year long! I also discuss finances and what it takes to maintain a home. If you barely have enough money to purchase the home, how in the world are you going to fix it up? What if a major repair is required? What if your car breaks down? When your taxes go up, can you handle it? I want my clients to make educated, level-headed decisions! I also have a list of vendors whom I trust. Whether it's a carpet cleaner, a roofer, HVAC, plumber; I've worked hard to find excellent professionals to help my clients. Bottom line, your realtor should be a source of valuable information and guidance. That's part of how we earn our commission! We WILL work for you!
