Tradewinds Music is a 21st century miracle. Seriously, unless you're living in LA, finding a legit, professional recording studio these days, much less a professional producer/audio engineer/session musician to operate said studio, is nearly impossible. The reason Jim Breen has been able to survive in the new music business is simply because he's a great man with a strong work ethic. He is never less than 100% professional, timely, friendly, fair, and patient. He's also an extremely talented musician and creative visionary. This is a real recording studio. Jim is a real producer, and his number one priority is to help make YOUR song be the best possible song it can be. This isn't some bearded, fedora-wearing, PBR drinking hipster's bedroom studio. There's no one apathetically pushing a button and leaving your to your own devices. There's no one trying to swindle you out of money or take credit for your ideas. The studio itself is a comfortable, world-class structure with world-class equipment, and a world-class producer and multi-instrumentalist, who will help you with whatever aspect of your art that you need help with: songwriting, vocal coaching, recording, mixing, mastering, music videos, etc. I'm finally recording my first album, and I'm lucky to be doing it at Tradewinds Music. The best part is that, unbelievably, Jim doesn't charge anymore than the average price for music production in the area. I'm a teacher, and live in an apartment, so having an affordable, quiet, and private place to rehearse and record my art was a must. My only regret is not knowing about this recording studio sooner. Who knows how many studio quality, beautifully engineered and produced songs I could have finished by now!

Working with Jim was a real positive experience. He is very professional and quite personable. Jim helped to put me at ease while cutting some bass guitar tracks. I was totally floored by the recorded sound Jim was able to archive. A very nice studio with a cool laid back atmosphere.

Usually give a break for larger projects from our listed price. Check with us for specials.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We listen to their ideas for a song, start with laying down a simple guitar or keyboard and voice and then build up the drums, bass and guitars and keys etc. all the way to background vocals and strings depending on what the song needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in Music Education 30 years of performance and lots of experience recording, arranging and singing and playing on others CD's as well as live across the USA and abroad!!
