I have only had one tutoring session so far but he was awesome! Very Helpful and clear! Looking forward to future sessions.
Excellent tutoring service!
Jen has been helping me with tutoring for the GMAT. She's one of the best tutors I've ever had! She broke down the test for me and I'm seriously seeing major improvements when I study and in my test taking abilities. She sincerely cares about the wellbeing of her students and only wants the best and for us to succeed. She's helped me with my confidence, verbal/math skills, and over all knowledge of things I don't think I will need but turns out, I do! She seriously knows what she's doing here people! If anyone ever needs a recommendation for a tutor, I would send them to Jen in a heartbeat!

Carla has been tutoring my two daughters for years now. She is not only highly competent and capable in any field she tackles, but she also has an uncanny ability to discern what exactly a child needs to do in order to help her achieve. Carla is incredibly intelligent and she has a kind soul that my children connect with. She is always patient and knows that each one of my girls has different needs and she adapts her tutoring accordingly. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this young lady. She is always on time, she is trustworthy and gentle and amazingly in tune with each one of my children. I recommended her to several of my friends and they are all very happy. They always give her rave reviews. Carla is a gifted teacher and you would be most lucky if she tutors you or your child.
*** A Life Saver *** Long story short; my Previous Tutor cancelled on us at the last min and I needed a Tutor for the ACT College Exam for my son and Fast. I sent out a desperate plea for help on Thumbtack and I was not interested in " Online Tutors", as they were the only ones available since the ACT & SAT test were a few weeks away. Marlene responded to my Request within a hour and said she would be more than happy to help my son. She was able to squeeze him into her schedule and help. I was so relieved and thankful. After talking to her on the phone we manage to arrange a schedule that would work for both of us. Marlene specializes in ACT/SAT college entrance exams and met us at our local library . After a brief in person interview, she started promptly working with my son. Marlene knew exactly how to work with him; he is a 12th grader and will be applying to college this school year. After their session, we discussed what he learned. It was the first time I have ever seen him so excited about Math before. He told me how Marlene showed him shortcuts, and other tricks to find the answers to the questions on the test. I was impressed by his enthusiasm and would highly recommend Marlene as a tutor. She is very pleasant, well prepared, smart, and knows how to motivate a child. Thanks again Marlene !! Ken B
Cheryl is a pro at tutoring... offers easy to understand strategies that effectively improve understanding. My high schooler is being tutored for SAT and ACT test taking and Cheryl was impressive from the first session. She is friendly but stays on task and gets the most out of an hour lesson. She is dependable, reliable, informative, knowledgeable, experienced and has the ability to identify the student's best way of learning and teaches to that style/need. I highly recommend Chery for any type of tutoring, she is an ultimate professional.

John is thorough and prompt. He works hard in advance to be prepared for the lesson. My son enjoys working with him. Once when he wasn't available, he still cared enough to help us via the telephone with the math problems.
Bethany, is quite nice and knowledgeable about the MAC. She teaches like a teacher. I like her and would continue working with her as long as I need to.

Select Choice provides tutoring and test prep services in person in the Tampa Bay area, and online around the world. We provide both one-on-one coaching, and small group instruction. Our online students meet with a live instructor regularly in our highly interactive classroom, which is complete with audio, live video, chat, and an interactive whiteboard. We have coached many students to perfect scores on all sections of the SAT and ACT, and help numerous others excel in courses that were once defeating them. In everything we do, our focus is on the learner, and the learning process. Our students consistently comment on how easy we make things and, if you can believe it, on how much fun they have!
We assist students in grades K through college in a wide variety of subject matters, including college prep courses, ACT, and SAT.
I have 30+ years of teaching and tutoring experience. I am New York licensed and permanently certified. Subjects I teach are: chemistry, biology, earth science, general science (6-12), anatomy and physiology, as well as math proficiency, college algebra and geometry. I also offer one-on-one prep for PSAT, SAT, ACT, GRE and GMAT, with guaranteed results. I cater instruction to student's specific needs and learning aptitude. Local references will attest to great results.
I am a graduate student who has four years of teaching experience. I soon and will be able to tutor students in the Tampa area starting July 8th. I am certified to teach middle and high school math, and I have also tutored several students in SAT and ACT prep. I have a passion for science and literature and love to get book suggestions from family and friends. For my undergraduate degree, I attended New College of Florida and studied anthropology/archaeology. I loved working with adolescents, so after graduating I worked as a middle school math teacher. I know how hard it is to make sure every student gets the individual attention they deserve, so as a tutor it is my goal to give my students the focused help they need to be successful. I have a strong math background. In addition to being certified to teach math grades 6-12, I scored a 760 out of 800 on the math section of the SAT and a 163 out of 170 on the GRE quantitative reasoning section. The most important part of teaching math, however, is being able to explain the basic connections between new material and what the student already knows. That is a skill I developed as a math teacher and use now as a tutor.
I am tutoring Algebra 1, Algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and physics to middle school, high school, college, and university students.
