- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Totten Construction provides complete pricing transparency through an open-book Cost Plus contract, so clients see every trade invoice and cost as the project progresses. We begin each custom home project with a Preconstruction Advisory Service ($2,500) that includes scope definition, conceptual budgeting, and feasibility guidance to align your design and budget before construction begins. This fee is credited in full if you move forward with us for the build. Our projects typically range from $500–$700 per square foot, depending on the level of design detail, finish selections, and site conditions. This approach ensures your project starts with clarity, stays on budget, and finishes exactly as envisioned.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It starts with a conversation—either a phone call or site visit—to understand your goals, timeline, and budget. From there, we’ll guide you through pre-construction planning, including design, permitting, and trade bids. Once we’re aligned on scope and pricing, we’ll finalize the agreement and schedule the work. Throughout the project, we provide regular updates, detailed invoicing, and clear communication.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’m a licensed General Contractor in Florida (CGC1529916) and hold a LEED AP BD+C credential, which reflects my commitment to sustainable, high-performance building. I also have years of hands-on experience managing residential and commercial projects, from custom homes to complex renovations.
